Another Sheikh cameras from Hasselblad.

Hasselblad new marketing strategy is to offer super luxurious cameras for reach people. After the Lunar they will now announce the “Stellar” camera which is basically the Sony RX100 with a lot of high quality material around it :)

The camera will be announced on Friday and there will be six different versions. Price? Starts from $1,600 and goes up to over $3,000 for the most luxurious version!

Sony did it! They will soon launch a Lens with builtin camera. Smallest mirrorless camera ever :)

We are already excited because of the soon to come Sony NEX-FF. But it looks like Sony engineers went almost crazy on this: The image on top shows the first Lens Camera from Sony. This is a Lens with built-in sensor, battery and memory!!! So how the heck can you see the images and download them? Easy, you connect your smartphone or tablet via Wifi or NFC to see the images (in live view).

This is an amazing little toy. But It’s hard for me to say if that new kind of doing photography is something really needed. What do you think?

Fuji aims for the low end mirrorless market. No X-PRO 2 this year.

Fuji is well known for their high quality X cameras and lenses. But now they will focus on the low end market where the market is pretty filled with a huge ammount of cameras. Don’t know if that is a good strategy. Anyway, Fujirumors reports:

1) THE STRATEGY: Fuji won’t replace frenetically its cameras after a short time. The company’s goal now is to extend its offer to new market segments. Therefore there will be new cameras targeting different customers. (a trusted source told me hat after the X-A1 Fuji plans to release two more cameras this year)

2) THE X-PRO2: Because of this strategy the high end cameras won’t be replaced that soon.  (so it seems that the X-PRO2 won’t be one of the two cameras released after the X-A1 this year.)

3) THE NEW LENSES: There will be new cheap lenses after the 16-50 f/3.5. These lenses will be cheaper because they are slower, but the image quality will remain top-notch because inside all elements are made of quality glass.

4) THE CHEAP 55-200: We will soon have a cheaper 55-200 lens (or something very similar).

5) THE DOUBLE KIT: Fuji could offer the X-A1 with a double zoom kit lens (16-50 and cheap 55-200)

Damn, was hoping to see the X-PRO 2 this year!

Strong indications about the NEX-FF release…

I keep receiving info on the new Sony NEX-FF system. It definitely has E-mount, and all current E-mount lenses will work in crop mode (cool!). There will be a couple of new FF lenses at launch. And all of them will be priced above $1,000.

It looks like Sony pushed hard on that project. Most of their new tech will be sued by the new NEX-FF. Which means new sensor, new AF system, new EVF an so on. Sounds like this will be the first “professional” mirrorless system.

New expensive mirrorless cameras to come: GX7 for more than $1,000. NEX-FF for more than $3,000.

This is how the GX7 is likely going to look (Courtesy Dicahub).

In late August and early September a huge wave of new mirrorless cameras are going to be announced. And most of them will be very expensive. While the price of the new Olympus OMD is still unknown trusted sources shared some bits about two new cameras:
1) The Panasonic GX7 will be definitely priced above the $1,000 mark. And that’s for the body only!
2) The first non-Leica Full Frame mirrorless camera is coming from Sony. The NEX-FF will be priced well above the $3,000. Still a bargain if you compare it with the $7,000 leica M cameras :)

Save your money guys! No vacation this summer :)

Weird: Canon will not sell the new 11-22mm lens in USA?

Canon is really doing everything possible to NOT push their EOS-M system! According to the moderator of the Canon USA forum, the EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens will not ship and be sold in the US:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens. We can certainly understand the confusion surrounding this release! Unfortunately, this specific lens will not be sold or serviced by Canon USA.

What the heck???

X-M1 still too epxensive? X-A1 coming soon!

Fuji just released the new X-M1 which is the cheapest X interchangeable lens mount camera to date. But If you still think it’s too epxensive than guys…wait for the new X-A1!

Fujirumors reports that there will be soon a new X-A1 camera featuring a non X-trans sensor. And to save costs the camera will not be for sale in small stores but only in large or online stores. That’s quite an interesting new approach.
