Olympus will announce a completely “different” OMD camera with some “unique” sensor feature!!

This comes via our best sources:

Olympus will bet extremely high on some new sensor tech features when releasing the new OMD MFT camera in January! The camera itself also will feature a new design. It will be the official E-M5 successor but will have little in common with the E-M5….

UPDATE: I have been told that while the sensor design changes are minor there is at least one unique feature on the sensor. Something that has to do with some sort of extra resolution…

Only two months to go to see if Olympus will keep the promise!

New rumors: Fuji 35mm APD and telephoto prime. Sony medium format.

The XF 56mm f/1.2 APD

Here are two new rumors:

Fuji (Source: Fujirumors):
In an interview Fuji confessed they are (or were) considering to make a new 35mm f/1.4 APD version just like they did with the 56mm APD. It’s unclear if they will make it.
What is definitely coming is a super telephoto prime!

Sony (Source: SonyAlphaRumors):
In an interview Sony didn’t deny the possibility to make a medium format camera. It’s not clear if this will be a fixed or interchangeable lens camera.

Sony patent adds focusing on all(!) manual lenses. Olympus working on QX style camera.

Here are two new patents from Sony and Olympus:

1) Sony patented a Z-shift moving sensor that can focus on all manual third party lenses! This means even an 40-50 year old lens can be used to autofocus. It’s not the lens that moves it’s the sensor! More at SonyAlphaForum.

2) Olympus will “copy” Sony’s lens-camera idea! Images showing a sort of Olympus version of the QX camera can be seen at Egami.

Latest rumors: Sony “foveon” alike sensor, FE camera coming soon and Olympus 10mm fast prime also.

We have some more Sony and Olympus rumors:

1) Sony confirmed new generation of FF E-mount cameras is coming very soon!

2) Sony will use the fast A6000 AF on FE cameras.

3) Sigma said they expect Sony to launch foveon sensors

4) Olympus said a fast 10-11mm prime is likely to come in 2015

All great news don’t you agree? let’s hope the Sony FE cameras will finally have a close to DSLR autofocus performance!
