Nikon says that “In theory” they could make f/0,65 Z-mount lenses!

The french website Mizuwari interviewed Nicolas Gillet from Nikon France. Here are some key info:

1) Nikon wants to beat Sony in the European Full Frame market (Currently Sony leads it).
2) With the Noct-Nikkor 58mm f / 0.95, they just want to show what we are capable of doing when they detach ourselves from all the F-mount limits.
3) Nikon’s optical engineers have calculated that the Z mount can accept lenses up to f/0.65!

I am pretty sure Nikon has no plan to make a f/0,65 lens. It would be terribly expensive and terribly big. But good to know they can do it :)

These are the two next Sony FF sensors that will be sold to all camera manufacturers

SonyAlphaRumors got realiable info about the next two Full Frame sensors that will go on market in 2019:
Sensor 1:
60MP
16 channels (which is crazy, normally it should be 8),
4.6FPS@16bit
12FPS@14bit
8k30P@12bit
8K60p@10bit
4k60p@12bit
FHD300P@10bit
Sensor 2:
36MP
10FPS@16bit
60FPS@10bit
on-chip PDAF
These sensors can be bought by any company. I guess Pentax will use them first and maybe Nikon later. I doubt Canon will use them as this would mean they would have to give up their whole sensor department :)

First Olympus E-M1X specs: 20MP, 18 fps, 7+ EV stabilization and price close to $3,000!

43rumors unveiled the first specs of the new Olympus OMD E-M1X camera:

7.5+ EV
Body Size: 144.37 x 146.765 x 75.345mm (body with a built in vertical grip)

Price: close to $3,000

Launch: January 2019

And one source shared some more insights on this camera:

The camera is the perfect working tool. It’s worth the high price of $3,000, I guess from what I’ve seen. Lying in the hand like the legendary E-1 (see picture on top). It’s even better balanced than the MKII. You hardly notice the little extra weight. With the 300 F4 as well as with a 45 F 1.8 the camera sticks in your hand as if glued on.

The sensor exceeds all expectations, as does the stabilizer. The camera has 3 types of high res shoots. What really pleases me is that finally the charging via 15 V USB port works. Then I can finally charge my Powerbanks via solar cells while hiking in Nepal and then connect them to the camera. But the best will be the extremely high data transfer rate when transferring live data to a server over the air.

The charger charges the battery extremely fast, thanks for the investment of an additional $4.80 in development. for those who have waited a long time, the mc-20 also comes. So, look forward to the launch of the camera at the end of january 2019 and 2 more “small cameras” next year. You will smile when you see them.

No doubt Olympus will make a great camera but the E-M1X price is close to the Sony A7rIII and Nikon Z7 Full Frame cameras…will Olympus really sell enough of E-M1X cameras to make some profit?

Yongnuo announces the development of a new mirrorless system camera!

Well what a surprise! A chinese manufacturer is attempting what current “classic” camera makers are NOT doing. Yongnuo is developing a mirrorless system camera running on Android and with integrated 4G capability.

Yongnuo posted the image of this camera with a contest on Facebook. The contest ends in January which means that at CES we are likely to learn all details about it. It’s unclear what mount they will use and I guess the Canon 14mm EF lens is attached with an adapter on the camera.

Nice! What do you think about this concept? And what mount do you hope it has?

The new Olympus E-M1X will be announced in January

There is some life breathing back into the lungs of Micro Four Thirds lovers: Olympus is rumored to launch a new E-M1X High End camera in January. The camera is rumored to feature some unique new tech not available in any other camera yet.

There are no specs but Olympus seriously needs to make it right with this one to take away the spotlight from the Fuji X-T3.
