An official Nikon 1 design patent
Nikonrumors reports that the Nikon 1 J5 announcement may be coming in few weeks already. And this could be also the first Nikon camera capable of recording 4K video. Although I don’t expect Nikon to deliver a high quality 4K video as delivered by Panasonic or Sony.

There are some rumors/news coming out of the CP+ show:
Ricoh-Pentax said that they do not plan to make a new compact APS-C mirrorles ssytem. Because that would mean they would have to get rid of the K-mount. And they want to keep the full compatibility (Source: Digicameinfo)
Olympus said they would like to make a special 80y anniversary camera. And also fast lenses are high on their priority list.
Sony said the FE lenses can resolve future 50+ Megapixel FF sensor (Source: DSLRmagazine).
One of our long time Samsung sources shared some great info about the NX1:
1) Samsung will apply the Fuji Kaizen philosophy on the NX1, It means they plan to constantly upgrade the camera via firmware updates. The next couple of months you should expect to great firmware update almost…monthly! Samsung is collecting feedback from owners to tweak and improve the cam.
2) The NX1 is now selling very very well. In some markets the demand is higher than the supply. Hence the price will stay unchanged for months, possibly many months, differently from the original plans. Even in USA the NX1 is now selling better according to Amazon mirrorless camera ranking (Click here).
Ok, good to hear the NX1 sells well but they could please us with a small price drop anyway…don’t you Samsung? :)

Fotosidan had a small talk with Olympus manager Setsuya Kataoka. And he confirmed that they plan to launch super fast Micro Four Thirds lenses in the near future.
Olympus lately filed patents for a couple of f/1.0 and f/1.2 fast primes. Like the 12mm, 13mm and 14mm f/1.0 you see on their official patent description table below:
Sony will keep a rather low profile at CP+ this year and not announce any new camera…at least if they don’t surprise us :)
On Friday February 13 at 11.30 Tokyo time they will “only” introduce the new four FE lenses.
Fujirumors got very reliable info about a new lens roadmap that Fuji will announce next week. The future new XF lenses will be:
– 120mmF2.8 1:1 Macro
– 35mm f/2
– New 1.4x Teleconverter.
– 100-400mm
And according to 43rumors also Panasonic has some lens surprise:
– 30mm f/2.8 macro lens
– a second (fast?) prime lens prototype
And of course we still have Sony left with their new FE lenses…
