The announcement we couldn’t care less about: Luxury GM1 edition :)

Wertel Oberfell announced those new “Luxury” edition Panasonic GM1 cameras. It goes a similar route of the Hasselblad Lunar by adding style for a lot of $$$. Here are more images:

It’s a long time we are all waiting to get a proper X-PRO 1 successor. I guess the camera will be finally announced during 2015. Fujirumors is spilling out first rumors about the camera:
– APS-C sensor (TS + ASwN + AS)
– 24MP sensor (ASwN) – More than 16MP (ASwN)
– available early/first half of 2015 (NeS)
– tilt screen (AS)
– WiFi (AS)
– Non organic ASP-C X-Trans sensor (ORS)
– Price about 20% to 30% more expensive than the X-T1 (AS)
(TS= trusted source / NeS =New Source / AS = Anonymous Source / AswN = anonymous source with nick-name / SRP = source who was right in the past, but not yet trusted / ORS = other rumor sites)
Quite some people wishes Leica to joint the Micro Four Thirds camera with a Leica camera. Well this is not going to happen. But that fact didn’t’ stop David Wong to send us his render of a Leica Digilux MFT camera.
Thanks!
The certainly strangest of all NX mount cameras got a massive $200 price drop. It now sells for $249 (with 9mm lens) on eBay US (Click here).
I would be curious to see if Samsung is really selling those kind of “mini-interchangeable” cameras…
Photokina is over and I am working to get details about the next announcement period. I can tell you with a 100% certainty that at least those companies will announce new Mirrorless System Cameras in January and February 2015 already and displayed at the CP+ show which starts on Feb 12:
Sony, Olympus and Samsung!
I have no 100% reliable info about Fuji, Canon, Nikon and Panasonic mirrorless announcement during the same time.
Now all I need to know are the specs of those new Sony-Samsung-Olympus cameras…
Canon created a lot of expectations with their “impossible” teaser. And it turned out to be a complete marketing failure. Just read the reaction on their Twitter account (Click here). These are just some of them:
CanonWatch spotted that Canon Netherland teaser showing a new soon to be announced superzoom and large sensor compact camera. I guess it will feature the same Sony 20,1 MP 1 inch sensor as the G7x. And it will compete against the RX10 and FZ1000 cameras.
