Olympus promises new super fast MFT lenses!

Fotosidan had a small talk with Olympus manager Setsuya Kataoka. And he confirmed that they plan to launch super fast Micro Four Thirds lenses in the near future.

Olympus lately filed patents for a couple of f/1.0 and f/1.2 fast primes. Like the 12mm, 13mm and 14mm f/1.0 you see on their official patent description table below:

 

 

Sigma just announced a DP0 Quattro with 14mm lens

The camera is now listed at BHphoto (Click here) and has the following key specs:

Mayflower believes it’s not the smartphones that almost “Killed” the digital compact camera market..

Mayflower posted a completely different theory that explains why the digital compact camera and the system camera sales are falling dramatically.

They blame the poor usability and lack of customer oriented camera development. In short it’s time for the camera manufacturers to develop a sort of iPhone alike friendly camera. Ok that was veeeery simplified from me :)

Still more stuff to come: New Fuji roadmap and two new Panasonic MFT lenses!

Fujirumors got very reliable info about a new lens roadmap that Fuji will announce next week. The future new XF lenses will be:
– 120mmF2.8 1:1 Macro
– 35mm f/2
– New 1.4x Teleconverter.
– 100-400mm

And according to 43rumors also Panasonic has some lens surprise:
– 30mm f/2.8 macro lens
– a second (fast?) prime lens prototype

And of course we still have Sony left with their new FE lenses…
