There is a digital back for 35mm analogue cameras on Kickstarter. I really don’t know why you should do this :)
Canonrumors reports that the new Full Frame mirrorless that could be launched by end 2018 might have a newly developed sensor. This sensor is optimized for that specific camera. Canonwatch summed up the rumors we got so far:
Hasselblad announced that it’s H6D-100c digital back is now available as a “standalone”. This means you can buy this back only to use it any way you want. For example Large format shooters can use it on their cameras.
Yashica confirmed on their Youtube channel that they will launch a new camera on October 10 at 19:00 London time on Kickstarter. It’s unclear what kind of camera we can expect.
The Wifi alliance website listed a new Fuji camera with the code “FF170002”. And thanks to Fujirumors we know that this is likely to be the new X-T2s. This camera has exactly the same X-T2 specs but comes with on sensor stabilization.

CIPA released the latest August camera shipment report. And while shipments where higher than 2016 they are still much lower than 2015. Remember that in 2016 we had the huge Kumamoto earthquake that did put on hold the Sony sensor production facility. If you consider this it’s disappointing to see that camera shipments are only slightly better this year and still so far a way from a “normal” year like 2015.
I see nearly zero chance for the camera industry to ever reach 2015 level again. The mass simply doesn’t need cameras anymore.
