No-rumor: Canon FF mirrorless being tested right now

There is a no-rumor going wild on the web. It says something every idiot knows by now: Canon is testing a Full Frame mirrorless prototype :)

No specs no release date are known. That’s why I call it a “no-rumor”. Because it’s OBVIOUS Canon is testing a camera like that after having told to everyone that they are officially working on a professional mirrorless camera.

Wake me up when someone has some specs to share. Would love to know how the new mount will be, and what specs the camera has. Have you heard anything about that?

The Hasselblad XCD 30mm lens has been actually designed by Nittoh?

Hi Lows Note spotted a patent from Nittoh describing the exact lens design of the current Hasselblad XCD 30mm lens. It’s common from companies to use designs from other companies. Zeiss used Tamron patent designs, Olympus used Sigma patent designs and so on.

Next Nikon patent applications shows them working hard on phase detection pixel sensor

Recently Nikon patented plenty of on sensor phase detection systems. And they seem to work pretty much like the Canon Dual Pixel autofocus system. Today Nikoneye spotted another new United States Patent Application. I suspect this is the kind of tech that will be used on their future Full Frame mirrorless system camera.

Is Google buying Lytro for $40M?

Techcrunch reports:

Multiple sources tell us that Google is acquiring Lytro. One source described the deal as an “asset sale” with Lytro  going for no more than $40 million. Another source said the price was even lower: $25 million.The stage of the deal also is not clear.

I wonder what Google plans to do with Light field cameras….
