According to rumors on the web Canon could launch a total of four mirrorless cameras in 2015. If that’s true than Canon will really make a serious step into the mirrorless world. Wondering now if among them there will be a Full Frame mirrorless camera too…
UPDATE: A source specified that this inlcudes both Mirrorless cameras for the EOS-M system and mirrorless for 4K cine camcorders.
In an interview with Dpreview Ricoh/Pentax manager said:
“With current technology we believe the time is not right for us to make a large sensor mirrorless camera.”
So there are you have it. No FF mirrorless coming yet from Pentax/Ricoh. Pity, I think it would be the right time to launch such a system before Canon and Nikon do it!
I really believe that this is time all rumors about the the X-PRO2 are true. It will be announced the second half of the year and be also the first Fuji with 4K recording. Don’t know if that’s something Fuji lovers really were waiting for (4K) but hey…that’s the hype of the moment.
The new X-PRO2 will also feature a new X-Trans sensor (24MP?) and the new faster EXR III processor. There is yet no more to share but I am sure more info will leak out the next months….

I got some tidbits about two more features that Samsung plans to add on the NX1 via future firmware upgrades:
1) raw lossy compressed files (ala sony) selectable to increase buffer size and reduce file size in general. The compression has been studied to retain 95-99% of sensible information, while reducing of 15 to 30% the file size.
2) cropped 4k (along with the already existing downscaled 4k).
I have no detail about when exactly the next firmware will be released but I have been told it’s “very soon”.
The “mini X-T1” could arrive sooner than expected. Trusted sources at Fujirumors report the X-T10 will be announced around June already!
The full rumored specs list so far is: (SRP = source right in the past / NeS = New Source)
– Name: X-T10 (SRP + NeS)
– cheaper version of the X-T1 (SPR + NeS)
– no weather sealing (SRP)
– smaller EVF (SRP)
– same sensor of X-T1 (NeS)
– coming late spring/early summer (SRP
4K is one of the new Big words camera manufacturers cannot ignore. So it will not surprise anyone here that both next Panasonic and Fuji cameras will have 4K video recording:
1) The Panasonic GX7 successor (GX8?) will be announced in May and certainly feature 4K recording
2) The Fuji X-PRO 2 scheduled for a late 2015 release should become Fuji’s first camera with 4K recording (says Fujirumors). It will be interesting to see how Fuji will fix the X-trans weakness on the video front…
P.S.: Also Sony should announce a new E-mount 4K camera soon…
