Hasselblad CEO corrects previous statements. Zooms for the X1D are “possible”!

X1D

Hasselblad CEO Oosting “corrected” previous statements from Hasselblad manager Ove Bengston and the Hasselblad statement on the Facebook page. Those said that it would be almost impossible to make zooms for the X1D. But Oosting now says on Bokeh.com:

“Let me correct that a little bit…there will be more lenses coming. There will be also zoom lenses coming. So that is something we have to correct.”

Still, I don’t think zooms are really needed for the X1D. I guess who buys that camera prefers to work with primes anyway.

Preorders:

Prosophos is teasing the launch of a new M-mount camera with CCD sensor. And it’s not a Leica camera!

CCD-M-mount

Prosophos is teasing the launch of a new M-mount camera. Those are the details he is sharing:

  1. The camera is not made by Leica.
  2. The camera is not made by Hasselblad.
  3. Although the camera is curved, the sensor is not curved.
  4. M-mount,
  5. CCD sensor (> 24 MP),
  6. uniquely-shaped camera.

It’s unclear if that’s a Kickstarter project or a market ready camera from a major company…like Voigtlander?

Hasselblad CEO words about the new medium format camera

Hasselblad Germany sent out an email to invite photographers to the medium format unveiling.

The key info here is:
– The camera is a medium format camera
– The camera is for people that always dreamed about owning a medium format camera but had many reasons to not do so. Editor’s note: As the major obstacle to medium format is price this sounds like the camera will be priced between $5000-$10000.
– They use big words for the new camera saying a “new history” will be made with the camera and that photography will “enter a new dimension”
