Short update on the Leica Mini M rumor. I got feedback from trusted sources and they confirmed that the image and specs I posted yesterday are correct.
One more thing: Quite many people argued that the Leica Mini M image must be fake because of the 28-70mm FF equivalent marks on the lens while the front of the lens says “18-46mm”. I just want to remind you that actually this confirms that the image is real :) Because the past Leica Digilux series had exactly that kind of “double” markings. See the images of the Digitlux 2 at Amazon (Click here). The camera has a 7 – 22.5 mm lens (marked on the front of the lens) and a zoom ring with the 28 – 90 mm equivalent mark. To make it easy for you I show you the image here:
So have peace. That’s the camera Leica will announce on June 11! It is going to challenge the Hasselblad Lunar in the category “most non-sense camera of the year” :)
And here we have the next new Samyang-Rokinon lens! After the 16mmf /2.0 image “leak” we now have the first video and images of the soon to be announced Rokinon 300mm f/6.3 mirrorless lens for Mirrorless systems. It has been posted by an official Asian Samyang retailer on facebook.
UPDATE: Release date will be beginning of July. MSRP will be $299
Nowadays we are used to talk about new digital cameras only. But from time to time you still can find some “dreamer” developing film cameras. And the camera you see on top is a 4×5 pinhole camera made of wood! But this isn’t the only one made by Ondu (Click here). They also made 6×12, 6×6, 135 panoramic and a 135 pocket camera version. And if you think this camera will never have a sales success you proved to be wrong. The project already earned five times of the pledged money on Kickstarter. And that in one week only!
Going to buy one? :)
Samsung released parts of the NX2000 and NX300 codes. You can download them at http://opensource.samsung.com/. Those of you reaidng this and being programers may take a look to it to see if it’s posisble to use it to create a “tweaked” operative system for those cameras.
Nikon announced the fastest autofocus lens available for digital mirrorless systems. It’s the 32mm f/1,2 for the Nikon 1. A nice beast! You cna alreayd preorder it at Amazon in Black (Click here) and Silver (Click here).
Reminder: Also Panasonic plans to launch the 42,5mm lens by end 2013 and it will have the same fast f/1,2 aperture.

Olympus officially announced the new E-P5 and for Japanese market only the E-PL6. Full roundup of links to tests and early hands-on can be read at 43rumors (Click here). There is not much to argue on the nice E-P5 improvements (like ISO 100 and 1/8000 shutter). But it’s a bit pity that the body only is priced at $1000 or 1000 Euro. And if you want a kit version you have to only get it with the (nice) new VF-4 viewfinder. Would have been kind from Olympus to allow us a bit more “freedom” when choosing our needed kit (for example camera+lens without viewfinder option).
A great news is that finally Olympus launched the 17, 45 and 75mm Black primes lenses. And unlike the previous 12mm Black Limited Edition the new Lenses costs the same as the Silver version. Well done!
