Canon announced the ME200S-SH multi purpose camera at Adorama (Click here). Here are the key specs:

Canon ME200S-SH Multi-Purpose Camera
Featuring the same Super 35mm CMOS sensor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF (Auto-Focus) technology used in our Cinema EOS cameras, the ME200S-SH Multi-Purpose camera delivers an outstanding balance of image quality and sensitivity. The camera’s modular design and versatile connectivity allows you to connect only the components you need, making it easy to incorporate into a variety of camera systems and use it for a wide range of professional video production applications.

CANON SUPER 35MM CMOS SENSOR
Geared to meet a wide range of video production needs, the ME200S-SH camera’s Super 35mm Canon CMOS Image Sensor allows for cinematic image capture by providing depth of field control and dynamic range characteristics reminiscent of film for truly arresting images.

DUAL PIXEL CMOS AF (AUTO-FOCUS)
The ME200S-SH camera’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF (Auto-Focus) technology helps provide smooth and consistent autofocus, so that f ocus transitions are natur al looking and subjects can remain focused even as they move- particularly helpful in remote or gimbal shooting situations.

VERSATILE BOX-STYLE DESIGN
The ME200S-SH Multi-Purpose Camera was designed for a wide variety of applications. Numerous mounting points along the top and bottom of the camera give users the freedom to customize the rigging of the camera for almost any purpose from a minimal compact size to a fully rigged configuration.

COMPATIBLE WITH EF-MOUNT LENSES
The ME200S-SH Multi-Purpose Camera is compatible with select Canon EF mount lenses. The camera comes equipped with a Canon locking EF mount, allowing the lens to be attached or removed without the need to rotate the lens barrel. This facilitates changing lenses in applications where multiple accessories are attached to the lens.

RC-V100 REMOTE CONTROL
The ME200S-SH Multi-Purpose Camera can be controlled via either of the two remote terminals offering a mini-pin or RS-422 connection that utilize Canon’s OK protocol, and are compatible with the optional Canon RC-V100 Remote Controller.

The front of the camera features a 12-pin lens terminal, enabling power connectivity with EF mount CINE-SERVO lenses or 2/3″ broadcast lenses with a third party adapter. The terminal also supports 12-pin serial communication with the drive unit of the broadcast lens and enables the remote operation of the focus and iris.

Lytro gives up his photobusiness (focus on Virtual reality)

Backchannel posted a highly emotional post from Lytro Ceo Jason Rosenthal. It’ quite unusual to read about the “personal” struggle of an enterprise. Jason confirmed Lytro will no more “classic” photocameras. They will purely focus on virtual reality instead. And I wanna quote a part of his text where he talks about the hard life of a CEO:

On the good days, building a company feels lonely, scary and confusing. On the bad days, I’ve wanted to vomit and curl up into the fetal position rather than deal with my reality.

We wish you good luck Jason! Long live Lytro!

Paolo Namias sent me this:

Dear Sirs
I’d like to present to you our project: “The ultimate Test of Lenses”
All the current tests you can read in internet use a camera to test the lenses, but in this way you cannot measure the real performances of the lenses.
Our method is different: we test each lens by itself, we use an MTF optical bench, so the performances we measure are real.
And our software shows how the performances change according to the different sensor’ size.

The interface is very interactive, you choose the aperture, or the focal length, and you see how the performances change.
You can compare different lenses, very easily.

As an independent laboratory, we do no accept advertising. That guarantees even more our independent judgment.
We finance the project by selling the tests at low price (€ 5 each).

At present we achieved a beta version, and we launched a Crowdfunding to complete our work.
I’d appreciate if you would like publish our project to help us to realize the final version in the English language.
With the donations the people get tests saving money.

Our laboratory MTF Lenses LAB was born more than 30 years ago and we have online a database of about 450 lenses, that we constantly enlarge.
But our story begins 122 years ago, when Rodolfo Namias, my grandfather, published the magazine Il Progresso Fotografico, January 1894; he was a researcher, and the magazine was the media to be in contact with other researches in the world.
I join some photos of that old times.

I thank you for your support
