Leica T review roundup (TheCameraStore, ePhotozine and more)

The nice guys from TheCameraStoreTV tested the new Leica T camera and they really liked it! The only real downside of the camera is it’s price. But you really get a unique camera for the money. And that’s more or less what all other Leica T reviewers do say:

Photoreview writes: “What we can say is that Leica has taken a welcome move into the CSC category and produced equipment that looks smart, performs competently and is likely to please those who yearn to experience Leica’s renowned craftsmanship and style.

ePhotozine writes: “If you are in the market for a unique camera, and have the budget to spend, then the Leica T Typ 701 is certainly capable of producing good results, however we’d be tempted to wait for additional lenses to be released before committing to the system, particularly when there is a much larger range of lenses available for alternative systems.

Next Megapixel Madness horizon: 100 megapixel sensor in the works at ST.

Our brain tells us that Megapixels don’t matter. And probably what cameras can deliver today are already way to much for the use we do. But you know, at the end our devil irrational side will always win and you will be happy to know that STMicroelectronics announced that they “will soon offer products with 100’s of millions of pixels.

You just ave to take a picture with a wide angle lens and than crop the part of the image you like and still make a huge print of it. No more zooms and tele lenses needed :)

Olympus E-PL7 to be announced soon. Likely the only new PEN to come now?

As you know Olympus usually updated the full PEN range in one single announcement (always in late Spring). But according to latest rumors this is not going to happen this year. There will be “only” the new E-PL7 with same E-M10 sensor, 81 AF points and Vari Angle LCD.

There is no other info yet but this sounds more like a small update than a completely new camera.
