Pentax Japan just announced the sky-blue K-01 variation. I know this was the big news you were waiting for :)
By the way, the Ricoh-Pentax company now will be officially “Ricoh” only. But the name Pentax will be sued to brand all future interchangeable DSLR and Mirrorless cameras. So don’t worry!
And last Pentax news: new Q7 image samples have been posted on Dpreview.
I have no doubt Canon will soon announce a new EOS-M camera having that crazy 70D Dual Pixel AF sensor. And today Canon launched an incredible $300 off(!) on all EOS-M kits at BHphoto (Click here). Now you pay $299 for the camera with pancake!
If you buy the camera install the new Canon EOS M Firmware Version 2.0.2 (Canon US). You will get a much faster AF!

Olympus
It’s less than two months to go until the big announcement time by end August. There will be plenty of new mirrorless cameras coming right before the IFA show in Berlin. One of them is certainly the new Olympus OMD camera. For now rumored specs do say that it will retain the same sensor, same EVF and same form factor as the E-M5. But like the new E-P5 it will have 1/8000 shutter and Built-in WiFi. An interesting new fearure is the 81 AF points system which suggest that the 16MP sensor may contain some extra phase detection pixels. (Source: Photorumors).
Fuji
There are three more X cameras to come. One interchangeable entry level X camera (yes cheaper than the X-M1) and two fixed lens X cameras. One of them shoudl be the X-30 with a larger than 1 inche sensor and placed to compete against the new Sony RX100MII. (Source: Fujirumors).
Reminder:
Panasonic will announce the GX7, Sony the new NEX-7 successor. Everything coming in late August!
None of the following two rumors are a surprise:
1) It’s now over 6 months that rumors about a new Olympus 25mm f/1.8 lens are floating around the web. The design on top has been leaked in China and may shows the real lens characteristics with a 46mm diameter. Expected announcement in early September along the new OMD!
2) As I told you weeks ago Sony will go full mirrorless with their A-mount system. The A-mount cameras will keep the classic DSLR design and body but there will be no mirror between mount and sensor. The A77 successor will hit the market in Q1 2014 and be the first APS-C A-mount mirrorless camera.
Overall I suspect that many DSLR manufacturers will sooner or later make full mirrorless “DSLR-look” cameras. Today’s announced Canon 70D has a very advanced on sensor PDAF which makes the classic phase detection system used by DSLR cameras almost useless.
The Canadian Team from TheCameraStoreTV tested the brand new Touit lenses. It’s a very informative review and worth to be watched and shared. IN very short, the Zeiss lenses are great but not better than the Fuji lenses. They are better suited for NEX camera owners because they don’t as many high quality lenses as the Fuji X system.
UPDATE: The Sony Livestream on Amazon US (Click here) is now over. There was a very interesting hint for us….when the Sony manger said that “rumors” say a Full Frame NEX is coming this year :)
