Samsung invents a new term: “Videotography” ?!?!?!!?!?
SamsungCameraRumors spotted a funny (or non-sense) new term invented by Samsung. It’s “Videotography“. Samsung says:
Videotography is an uncompromising combination of video and photography where still images pulled from video stand as photographs in their own right
WTF?
Canon files a new patent for an adapter for a Full Frame Mirrorless camera!
Egami spotted a new Canon patent describing a new adapter for a yet non existing Canon Full Frame Mirrorless camera. Of course we never know if and when a “patent-camera” will become a real thing. But for sure Canon will launch such a mirrorless system camera one day.
Samsung NX Mini 2 gets leaked in Netherland!
The Dutch site Cameranu.nl leaked the new Samsung Mini 2 camera. It has a 20.5 MP sensor and records 4K. Some more specs:
stereo audio
4K-video
sensor seems the same one as in the current NX Mini
super amoled display instead of lcd (resolution of new screen unknown)
retractable flash in body (indirect flash seems possible)
external flash connector removed
DirectLink-button disappeared. On/off-button gone to the back, next to new flash-button
D-pad now with scrollwheel (!)
1820mAh-battery/400 shots (instead of 2330mAh/650 shots for NX Mini)
separate door for battery and connectors
metal rings on both sides for neck strap (instead of compactcamera style wrist strap provision)
marking for sensor plane on top
more ‘manly’ styling…
and last but not least … interchangeable front…
One more Panasonic announcement to come in July!
The announcement party isn’t completely over yet. There is one one thing to come from Panasonic before the hot Summertime season….or Winter time if you live on the wrong side of the planet :)
Panasonic is likely to introduce a new FX300 superzoom lens with 1 inch (Sony) sensor. There is also a rumor about a new MFT telephoto lens.
After the Panasonic announcement we expect Sony-Olympus-Nikon-Canon to have new announcement in September and October.
Those could be the next two Samsung NX lenses (24mm and 70-400mm).
Photorumors got word about the two next possible Samsung lenses:
1) 24mm f/1.4 S
2) either 70-400mm f/4-5.6 S or 100-400mm f/4-5.6 S
