Sigma announces the new 30mm f/1.4 lens for Sony E-mount and MFT. And NIkon announces the three 1 inch sensor compacts.

Sigma announced the 30mm f/1.4 lens which comes for Sony E-mount and MFT. Both versions can be preordered for $339 at BHphoto (Click here) and at Adorama (Click here).
Sigma also announced a new MC-11 Canon EF or Sigma SA to Sony E-mount electronic adapter. That one sells for $249 and will ship in April according to BHphoto

Nikon announced three new 1 inch sensor cameras (same Sony sensor found in the RX100 series):

Surprise! Sigma announces the Sigma SD Quattro and SD Quattro H SA mount mirrorless cameras!

Sigma made a surprising announcement today! They announced the SD Quattro mirrorless system cameras with Foveon sensor and SA mount:

The Sigma Quattro SD:

  • Two mode Autofocus system
  • Mirrorless system, Dust & Splash magnesium alloy body
  • Resolution equal to 39MP Bayer sensor on resolution testing
  • Compact design similar to dp Quattro cameras
  • SA mount

The Sigma SD Quattro H:

  • Larger APS-H sensor
  • Resolution equal to 51MP Bayer sensor on resolution testing
  • Designed to take advantage of SGV lenses with great IQ
  • SA mount

Sigma underlines the commitment to APS-C with a new 30mm f/1.4 E-mount and MFT lens!

That’s good news for Sony E-mount and MFT mount folk: Sigma is launching a $450 30mm f/1.4 lens on Feb. 23! We long worried if Sigma would continued to develop DN APS-C lenses for mirrorless system And that’s really the positive answer we hoped to get. The only drawback is that the lens will not be available for Fuji and Canon camera owners yet. But Sigma could fix this in the near future…

Sigma announces a new Sony E-mount electronic adapter and new dp Quattro firmware update

Sigma officially started to compete in the electronic adapter world by announcing their new MC-11. The adapter comes in two different versions for Canon EF or Sigma SA lenses. It mounts on all E-mount cameras and transmits full electronic info for aperture, autofocus and IBIS control.
