Tokina will launch a new FE lens line named “Firin”. Here is the leaked image of their first lens…

We all know Sony and Zeiss E-mount lenses are incredibly expensive. But this is really about to change. Rokinon announced their first two autofocus FE lenses. And now Tokina is joining the E-mount world too. They will launch a new FE lens line named “Firin” (what the heck?). You don’t believe me? Just watch the image below of their first 20mm f/2.0 Firin lens:

Canon EOS-M3 successor may be announced right before Christmas?

canon_eos_m3

Canonrumors reports that the EOS-M3 successor will be announced some times after Photokina but still before Christmas. Those are the rumored details:

It will be a replacement to the EOS M3, but it won’t be called “M4”. Say hello to the M5.
It will go slightly up market from the EOS M3.
Don’t expect big ergonomic changes.
It will be APS-C.
A new lens will be announced alongside it, an EF-M 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS is a good bet.
We cannot confirm DPAF or 4K.

Nice…

Next announcements: Fuji on August 25, Sony on September 1, Olympus, Sony, Fuji and Panasonic on September 19

Photokinalogo

We got a reliable scheduling for the next press events:

September 1: Sony will announce new consumer products on September 1 (no E-mount stuff expected but you never know…)
September 19: Olympus will announce the E-M1II and new 14-100mm f/4.0 and 25mm f/1.2 lenses
September 19: Panasonic will announce the new G80
September 19: Fuji is rumored to show a prototype of a new medium format camera
September 19: Sony has a press event but it’s unclear if Sony will announce hte new High End E-mount camera on that date or maybe “only” announce new FE lenses

That’s it for now!

Sony will live stream a product announcement event on September 1

IFA-Sony

Right in time for the IFA in Berlin Sony plans to introduce new electronic products. Hard to think that Sony will announce new E-mount cameras or lenses as this is more a of a general electronic fair like the CP+. This is what they write on their website:

Hello and welcome to the Sony IFA 2016 page. This is where you’ll find all the latest Sony news and product announcements from Berlin as soon as they happen, and we’ll also be sharing photos, video footage and more across the entire event. It’s just like being at IFA itself, but without all the walking! To watch the livestream of the Sony press conference, make sure you check back here on Thursday September 1st at 1pm Berlin time (12pm GMT), where you’ll see our President and CEO Kazuo Hirai announcing our latest products live from the Messe Berlin.

Keep in mind there are two more big events this year, the Photokina and the PhotoPlus show. Sony is rumored to announce the following stuff  within the next couple fo months: 16-35mm GM, 100mm f/2.8 STF, Sony High End E-mount camera and maybe a new entry level Sony A7 mark III.
