Fuji is really working on a Very High End X camera!

Trusted sources at Fujirumors confirmed that Fuji is developing a new Very High End X camera that will be placed above the X-Pro2 and X-T2. Those are the key aspects of the camera:

  • Correct: Fujifilm is working on the ultimate X-series X-Trans APS-C camera
  • Design based on X-T line (We don’t know the name yet, but it’s should not be “X-T3“)
  • The camera is still under development, hence the camera price has not yet been set
  • The only sure thing is that the camera will be more expensive than any other X-series camera currently on the market
  • Best Fuji APS-C camera for video work

This sounds like a sort of X-T camera on steroids with all the best stills and video tech Fuji has to offer. I like it! But I am not surethat at $4,000-$5,000 this will really sell…or am I wrong?

Brand new Sony A7 and A6000 deals in USA

This week Major US stores started new Sony A7 and A6000 deals on Sony cameras. Check them out at Adorama, Amazon and BHphoto.

This should not be interpreted as a sign that Sony will launch new cameras soon. But for sure there is one major announcement coming in April. We hope at least to get the new A7III if not the long time rumored A9!

Zeiss keeps teasing the new Batis FE lens…

Zeiss keeps posting images shot on the yet to be released new Batis telephoto portrait prime lens for the Sony E-mount system. There are no official specs yet although we bet this to be a new 135mm lens (F/2.8 or slightly faster).

One the image you can see on top of this article you can evaluate the Bokeh performance which seems to be rather excellent in my view!

The next Fuji GFX vs Hasselblad X1D vs Sony A7rII comparison by Focus Numerique. Guess who wins…

Focus Numerique (translation)

From 50 to 800 ISO, the GFX 50S delivers sumptuous shots: the colors are vivid, the images very detailed. The dynamic range is excellent and it will be possible to climb up to 1,600 or even 3,200 ISO without too much hesitation.

But while the GFX offers the best image quality of the bunch the question remains if the price justifies the comparable negligible image quality difference. Focus Numerique says they would have loved Fuji to go for the larger 55x41mm sensor…

Next Stock of Fuji GFX cameras will ship out on March 30 in Europe

There is still no store in USA and Europe that has the Fuji GFX in Stock (Check: BHphoto, Amazon). The next shipment is due to start on March according to Calumet Germany. I am really surprised to see such a high demand for $6,500 camera. I am now seriously hoping Sony and others will make a medium format camera too. That way price may go down to $4,00 :)

And now some adapter news: Kipon annopunced a total of twenty adpaters for the GFX (Full info here). And this is the video showing the new Fotodiox GFX adapters:
