Nikon confirms that both Higher and Lower End cameras are on roadmap

Nikon managers released various interview in Japan (Mynavi and DCwatch). And Nikon’s goal is clear: They want to expand the line up in both direction…higher and lower end models. The big question is if the lower end model will feature an APS-C sensor. I would prefer lower end models to still have an FF sensor. Otherwise Nikon would have to launch a new APS-C lens line too and it would mean another 2-3 before we get enough lenses.

Of course expect higher end models to have the dual slot card just liek this model:

First rumored Canon Full Frame mirrorless specs

First: It’s confirmed that on September 4-5 Canon will announce something “mirrorless”. But it’s unclear yet if they will announce a new lens for the current EOS-M cameras or if they will also disclose some info about the future Full Frame mirrorless.

And today we can share first rumored Canon Full Frame mirrorless specs we got via Canonwatch:

  • 28MP full frame sensor
  • Dual Pixel Auto Focus
  • IBIS (In Body Image Stabilisation)
  • 10fps shooting
  • 4k@30fps
  • 1080p@60fps
  • Priced $1,900

It may be that Canon will announce some kind of FF mirrorless development only at Photokina just like Nikon did months ago. Maybe Canon will take some time to evaluate the Nikon Z impact on the public and try to not repeat some of the Nikon’s mistake (like poor AF performance and crippled FPS rate).
