We got two new lens rumors:

1) Sony will announce a new 24mm f/1.4 FE GM lens soon (probably within 2-3 months) via SAR
2) Olympus will announce a new 14mm f/1.4 MFT lens at Photokina. via 43rumors

And Samsung is back with some big claims: They want to dethrone Sony in the sensor business (Source: etnews.com). Samsung is known for making bold statements. 8 years ago they said they wanted to become number one in the mirrorless world and now they even don’t make cameras anymore :(

The fastest lens available yet is this 22mm f/2.0

The Canon EF-M lens lineup is really lacking of any intersting fast lens option. Well this is about to change soon! Canon will announce the new 32mm F1.4 STM within the next couple of weeks.

The next wave of product announcements is coming in one month at the NAB show. There are no reliable rumors yet but this is what we can hope to get:

Sony:
The easy guess is that Sony will announce the new Sony A7sIII. This is really long due for an announcement. The Panasonic GH5s and Fuji X-H1 might not be Full Frame cameras but it’s time to get an upgraded Sony competitor.

Panasonic:
Don’t think they will announce anything MFT related. Although some folks still hope there will be a new AGF100 styled MFT camcorder.

Canon:
Canon will announce a new EOS Cinema camera.

It’s unlikely Fuji-Nikon-Olympus will announce anything at NAB.

Asian Review posted an interesting article. Seems like Canon is finally aware the focus must go on mirrorless system cameras. Canon manager Sakata reported:

1) they must “actively roll out products for a growth market even if there is some cannibalization”.

2) Sakata did not say much about the possibility of Canon releasing a high-end mirrorless camera. “We will look at the timing and consider it”

I think that at Photokina both Canon and Nikon will show their FF mirrorless system cameras. It may be just a prototype or roadmap announcement. But still, the war ar Sony will begin soon!

Well informed dpreview member “Asahi man” shared this screenshot. It shows that the new GRIII will be announced in September!

Sigma is finally going to launch their first Full Frame E-mount lenses. Nokishita leaked the image of the 105mm f/1.4 ART lens. The image shows the Canon mount version but Nokishita said a Nikon F and Sony FE version of this will be announced too.

With Nikon and Canon NOT announcing a Full Frame camera at the CP+ show it will be Sony taking once more the lead: They will announce a new Alpha camera on Monday afternoon in Las Vegas. It’s still a secret what could be announced but we know the choice is between the new A7III and a new A6xxx model.

A major announcement will be made next week by Sigma: They will show their first FE lens prototypes at the CP+ show!
