Shooting Real Estate with OMD EM1…….

I shoot interior and exterior with my OMD and prefer the quality over my D7000. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my D7000, it’s an awesome camera. But it’s so heavy and bulky……if you have never tried shooting with a mirrorless camera you should. They are amazing! I hardly ever take my Nikon out anymore. Simply no need. Even the need for a full frame camera…right now no need. When Olympus comes out with a mirrorless full frame…which I’m sure is coming soon. THATS where I will upgrade. ….shoot well my friends……

T&T Camera Wrist Straps

?

Hello All!  As a fan and reader of Mirrorless rumors since its inception, I’m excited to be writing my first guest post here.  Some of you may be familiar with me, having done some reviews and tutorials over on my blog, but for those I’ve yet to connect with, my name is Tyson and I love photography.  This love of photography and photographic gear has seen my day job merge with my moonlighting job as a photographer and blogger with the building of my new wrist straps.

I’ve been building, and shooting with my own wrist straps for about a year now and have fine tuned the process.  I use high performance, yachting rope and nautical rope splicing techniques to build what I think might be the strongest wrist straps out there.  While I’m going to stop short of saying they’re indestructible (they’re not) I can say that they are capable of supporting well over 200 lbs, and if you venture over to my blog you can see self depricating and hopefully entertainingly comical video proof.

I’ve got these priced at $30usd delivered within the US, $36 to Canada and Mexico.  They’re also available for £25 in the UK or €30 in the EU through my friend Tommaso in Italy.

For more info and ordering, you can visit my T&T Wrist Strap page HERE over on the blog.

Thanks for reading and happy shooting!

Cheers,

Tyson

Hot Notes: 1) Pricing will be announced in mid March only! (Camera will cost less than $2000 or 2000 Euro). 2) This is the world’s first mirrorless interchangeable lens mount camera recording 4K 3) The external XLR / HD-SDI add-on for this camera allows for uncompressed 10bit 4K output over 3G HD-SDI – the kind of spec Canon currently charges $25,000 fo (EosHD). 4) DFD (Depth-of-Defocus) autofocus works like this: During live view (before a half-press of the shutter button), the camera will occasionally make a tiny adjustment to focus, to check whether subjects in the frame are in front of or behind the current focus point. In addition to this information, the camera judges how far out-of-focus objects in the scene are, based on how blurred they are, assessed using a profile detailing the blur behavior of the lens at its current aperture. Although this combination of data itself doesn’t give the GH4 enough information to achieve precise focus, it does give it a clear idea of where it should start using conventional contrast detection AF process to achieve fine focus. (Dpreview). 5) Recording 4K will crop your image by an ulterior 1,25x factor (Quesabesde). 6) The new sensor seems to be able to get more detail out of the highlights than the sensor in the Olympus EM1 (ThePhoBlographer).

Leica will launch a high quality system camera based on their own mount.

A fake mirrorless Leica render by leicarumors.

It’s really not a surprise but at least we can confirm it via our own very trusted sources. Leica’s new mirrorless system will not be part of any current mount. Leica has chosen to go their own route and will offer their very own mount. The cameras will be built by Panasonic and what remains to be answered yet is if Panasonic will join the system with their own branded cameras too. I think it would be good for Leica to have them onboard. it could be a remake of the Oly-Pana partnership that made MFT that successful. But I still think the chances stay very low for this. Probably Leica want to give away their “exclusive” character?
