APS-C Leica T type 701 to be announced in April?

A couple of weeks ago Digicameinfo reported the registration of the name “Leica T type 701” in Taiwan. This is likely a new interchangeable and mirrorless system. According to Leicarumors the camera will be launched in April and feature an APS-C sensor.

As far as we know the prime lenses will be made by Leica in Germany. The camera body and the zooms will be made by Panasonic (and sold with Leica name).

Fuji X-Ti coming in two weeks!

According to Fujirumors there will be a new Fuji X-T1 announcement in two weeks (end of January). It will be an SLR alike designed X-mount camera with addtitional battery grip and shutter release. It uses the same sensor of the X-E2 and has an extra large EVF. It is likely to use a double SD-card slot and it has a weather sealed body. Price will be in between the X-E2 and X-PRO1.

Sounds like a great camera!

Panasonic will launch the first 4K GH mirrorless camera in February!

Well we have some good news! The Panasonic 4K Gh camera displayed at CES in Las Vegas is not a mockup, it’s a real camera that will be officially launched in February!!!

Engadget reports that the camera will cost less than $2,000 and…

UHD content can be recorded at 200 Mbps, and output in a full live feed via a mini-HDMI port (thanks to ALL-I Intra mode) to display on a computer or record to a hard drive. Of course, the Micro-Four Thirds shooter can save footage straight to an SDXC card — a UHS Class 3 prototype variant tuned for such a task was on display — though space will run out fairly quickly.

And I am pretty sure Sony will be the next company launching such a 4K mirrorless camera!

Panasonic shows a GH 4K mockup at CES show in Las Vegas.

Giulio Sciorio from SmallCameraBigPicture took this picture of a Panasonic GH camera having 4K video recording feature. It is on show at CES in Las Vegas. There are no other details coming a long that image but I am pretty sure this is a mockup and not a prototype or final version of the camera.

I guess that “4K” will be the big marketing word for 2014. Also Sony is supposed to launch 4K mirrorless cameras this year.
