Some Samsung news: 30mm f/2 NX i-Fn shown on German online store.

It has been very quite on the Samsung front after their Android NX camera announcement. And it looks like there will be no more big new releases this year. All we can expect for autumn is an updated 20mm f/2.0 lens with added i-Fn function. The German Online Store Fotokoch (Click here) lists the new lens for 299 Euro.

I am wondering what’s in the head of the Samsung bosses right now. What will they do to make NX cameras popular? We will “see” their thoughts at Photokina 2014 I guess…

Sony and Canon leak day. G16 image and NEX camera and lens specs.

Lot of info to post today! Let’s start with Canon:

Digicaminfo spotted the picture of the new Canon G16 High End compact camera with 1:1,7 inch sensor, -5 times f/1.8-2.8 zoom (starts at 28mm),  12 MP sensor with Digic6 and very fast AF.
And much more interesting is the leaked Sony NEX camera and lens list (again via Digicaminfo):

– NEX-5T (same camera as the NEX-5r but with some minor new features)
– ?3000  (this is the name in Japan. In US and Europe it will be ILC-3000). With new 20.1 M sensor and classic SLT look!
– Cyber-shot QX10 (the lens-camera)
– Cyber-shot QX100 (the lens-camera)
– E 16-70mm F4 OSS (Zeiss lens for around $1,000 and 55mm diameter)
– E PZ 18-105mm F4G OSS (72mm filter)

Still no real specs yet of the NEX-FF. But that camera could be announced one month later…

Fuji X-A1 gets leaked in…blue!

Gosh! This really doesn’t look like an usual high quality body Fuji camera. The new X-A1 will be Fuji’s new entry level X-camera. FujiRumors reports that this camera

won’t have an X-Trans sensor (and also not the X100 sensor), will come in a lot of colours and will be sold by big retailers on the web and big general stores.

This looks like a storephoto. It means it will be announced very soon!

Olympus E-M1 accidentally leaked by Engadget team.

Big D’oh! for the Engadget team! They erroneously leaked a video showing all the goods of the new Olympus E-M1. The video has now been removed but you can still find it mirrored on many sites. For example here: http://uploaded.net/file/9pf6imwp

Speca are also known. It’s basically an E-P5 with VF-4 viewfinder and has the body of the E-M5 with the E-5 grip. You can’t explain a new camera in a shorter way than that :)

Lytro preparing some groundbreaking new cameras for 2014. But also gets serious competition from Digitaloptics.

It doesn’t happen very often to see some “real big innovation” in the digital camera business. Lytro certainly is one of the few companies that revolutionized the photo market. But still, their products are not mature enough to compete against the current “normal” Bayer sensor cameras. But this will change in 2014. TheVerge reports that they will launch ‘multiple breakthrough products’ with features that professional photographers are looking for. We don’t know yet if this means that sensor size will be bigger, if there will be an interchangeable mount or whatever. But better they deliver what they promise because for the first time they will face serious competition from Digitaloptics. They will launch their Lytro like camera in 2014 (Source: Engadget).

It’s time for High Quality lenses: Sony Full Frame Zeiss and Olympus High End f/2.8 zoom.

High Quality Lenses are still rare to find in current mirrorless system. But soon this will change.

Sony:
Sony will launch four new Full Frame and one new APS-C E-mount lenses. Three FF lenses will be from Zeiss and one is a Sony G. The APS-C lens is the 16-70mm f/4.0 Zeiss that will be priced around $1,000. That lens will be announced along the NEX-5T on August 29 while the new Full Frame camera+lenses will be announced in late September (24?).

Olympus:
Olympus will also finally launch their brand new fast f/2.8 zoom. And it may be even a second zoom surprise but that has to be confirmed. The Olympus zoom is said to be of higher quality than the 12-35mm X lens from Panasonic.

Still no news from the Canon and Nikon front :(
