New Nikon 1 rugged camera to be announced this week.

A Nikon 1 camera patent spotted by Nikonrumors.

After Fuji and likely Canon also Nikon will soon announce a new mirrorless cameras. Nikonrumors reports that Nikon will announce a new rugged 1 camera on Thursday morning (London time). No specs are known yet but it may be based on current Nikon 1 cameras.

I am still not sure about when exactly Canon will announce the new EOS-M cameras this week. Sony, Olympus and Panasonic will announce more stuff in October.

Fuji X-E2 and Sony NEX-9 (Full Frame) to be announced around October 20.

Quite unusual to see that many announcements in October! Today we have more reliable info about the next Fuji and Sony announcements:

1) Fujirumors reports that a new Fuji X-E2 camera will be announced on October 20.

2) SonyAlphaRumors reports that the Full Frame NEX-9 will be announced right before the PDN show in New York (around October 20).

We still have no specs to share but I am pretty sure these will leak out soon. For now let’s focus on the new Canon EOS-M announcement while Olympus will follow soon with a High End Compact Camera release.

New Canon EOS-M stuff to be announced this week?

After many many months of waiting and rumors we are finally close to the new Canon EOS-M cameras and lens announcement. According to muliple sources Canon has scheduled a press announcement for this week. And the chance is high that they will unveil the new Canon EOS-M camera(s) and lenses.

Latest rumor said that two new EOS-M camera will be announced. A cheaper model direct successor of the current model and a more high end camera with built-in EVF. And a telezoom could be announced too.

Fuji X-A1 “cheap” X-mount camera to be unveiled on September 17.

On September 17, at 5am London time Fuji will finally unveil the cheapest of all X-mount cameras, the X-A1! And I really don’t think we will have to wait much longer for a more “serious” new X-mount camera. Fuji has set one more announcement for late October. It’s going to be a nice time for Fuji lovers :)

Plenty of new Mirrorless cameras coming in October!

According to multiple trusted sources a whole bunch of companies is going to launch new products in October. We are talking about Sony, Canon, Fuji, Panasonic and Olympus. All announcements will be made right before or at the Photoplus Expo in New York.

I am working on a full list of camera and lenses that we could see by then. Stay tuned!

Yes, the NEX-FF is going to be announced in October. Priced at around $3000.

SonyAlphaRumors and Photoclubalpha, both got confirmation from their sources that the NEX-FF is going to announced soon (in October). The first camera will cost around $3000. There will be also a “cheaper” camera coming a couple of months later. Both cameras feature the same sensor and both are very NEX-7 alike (but they will NOT replace the NEX-7). The camera has an E-mount and current lenses will work in crop mode.

At start there will be two zooms, a 35mm f/2.8 Zeiss and a 55mm f/1.8 Zeiss. There is also a rumor about a 85mm f/1.8 Zeiss but it’s unconfirmed yet.

Overall it looks like Sony pushed very hard on the accelerator to be the first company (after Leica) launching a full frame compact camera with interchangeable lenses. Sounds like the RX1 success convinced them to put all their resources and knowledge on a sort of interchangeable mount version. Sounds great!
