Did Diglloyd just post the first image samples shot on the new Otus lens?

A short hint: What you see on that Diglloyd post (click here) could be the very first image samples shot on the soon to be announced new Otus 28mm f/1.4 lens! Why can we be almost sure this is the new lens?

  1. Diglloyd did not unveil any lens info.
  2. He is known for testing new Zeiss lenses in advance.

He writes about the “unknown” lens:

Of course, many lenses could not do anywhere near so well as here—this is excellence in flare control and maintenance of contrast in a blindingly bright sky/sun.

So is it the Otus he is talking about?

(High credibility rumor) Zeiss to announce new Loxia and Otus lenses between October 12 and 16.

Prepare your credit card if you want to buy some new high quality glass! We have just been told Zeiss plans an announcement someday between the week of October 12-16. What we can almost certainly expect to be announced are:

  1. New Loxia FE 21mm f/2.8 lens. Based on the [shoplink 300350 ebay]Zeiss 21mm f/2.8 Biogon ZM lens design (listed here on eBay)[/shoplink].
  2. New Zeiss Otus 28mm f/1.4 lens for Canon and Nikon mount.

I have no info yet about possible other lenses.
