Olympus working on new PEN line and also ready to launch the 300mm PRO IS lens!

Olympus_300mm

43rumors reports two news about future Olympus products:

  1. Olympus will launch a completely new kind of PEN line in Spring 2016
  2. Olympus will launch the new 300mm f/4.0 PRO IS lens soon (probably in 2 months or so).

What else can we expect from Olympus in 2016? Well, Olympus managers said fast prime lenses are high on the priority list. And it’s also easy to guess the new E-M1markII will be launched at Photokina in September!

Sony will give us a glimpse on their future FE lenses in November.

The Sony marketing machine is warming up. The PhotoPlus show is over and as we have seen lately from Sony their product announcements are now made off the big shows. I have been told Sony product announcement(s) are going to be made in November. So maybe we will finally get a glimpse into the new FE lens roadmap. Back in September Sony stated eight new FE lenses would be announced between now and Spring 2016. Time to see those!

Sony will buy the Toshiba sensor business for $165 million. They get one step closer to the total domination fo the sensor market. Toshiba also makes the sensors of some Fuji camera models and it’s pity we have one player less on the market.
