Watch this video showing you how the future lenses will be (Spoiler: small!)
The day may not be far away when lenses will become as thin as hair!

Well, we may get the chance to see some new products long before Photokina. And if we are lucky next week Olympus and Sony will announce new products:
What else can we hope to get before Photokina? Well the Fuji X-T2 for sure (sometimes in July I guess). And maybe the Panasonic GH5?
Tony & Chelsea Northrup tried to predict the future of photography. And if you watch the video from 21.30min you will hear quite a statement from Tony. He believes the Nikon 1 and Canon EOS-M system are de facto just as dead as the Samsung NX system. He believes Fuji X, MFT and Sony E-mount will be the only mirrorless systems to survive within the current shrinking digital camera market.
For Tony and Chelsea the future of photography lies in Instagram, AI, Wearables and other “non classical” platforms and technologies.
There are many Fuji rumors and news:
X-T2:
The earthquake damages in Kumamoto did not change Fuji’s plan to launch the new X-T2 launch before the Photokina event. The camera is likely to be announced within the next 4-6 weeks (Source: Fujirumors).
20mm f/1.8:
Egami spotted a new 20mm f/1.8 Fuji lens patent.
Nissin i60:
The launch got delayed til late July (info via BHphoto).
EF-X500 Flash :
The EF-X500 Flash launch got postponed to September (Source: Fujirumors).
Nikon registered a new camera in Indonesia. The new camera has the code “N1514”. We don’t know what this camera is. But once registered it doesn’t take long to see the camera announced (usually 1-2 months).
This could be the first “serious” mirrorless system camera from Nikon. This means FF sensor and maybe even F-mount(???).

The Official Nikon word is that the Nikon DL compact will ship on June 30. But according to info we got from dealers it’s more likely that those cameras will start shipping in late September or early October at best!
The bad news goes one because we also heard:
The Sony Kumamoto sensor facility damage will have sever consequences for almost all companies.
Ricoh Japan confirmed that they also got affected by the Kumamoto earthquake. Because of supply (aka Sony) issues there will be some shortage of Ricoh/Pentax cameras.
