I am pretty sure all future new cameras from all companies will have those kind of new crazy high prices…
Sony’s next A7 camera is going to be announced in March/April
Sony will start to “refresh” their A7 line with the new A7 mark III. The camera will start shipping out in March/April according to SonyAlphaRumors. No specs are given yet.
A glimpse of hope: September system camera sales almost as good as last year sales
CIPA released the September camera shipment report. A look at the system camera graph shows a small sign of hope: The camera shipment in September was almost equal to those of the year before. And this despite the negative Kumamoto impact.
I know this is really a very very very small good news. But maybe we reached the bottom of the four-year long fall in system camera sales?

Loading ...I know this is a hard choice. Personally I like the X1D design and leaf shutter. But I acknowledge there are clear advantages for many by having a focal plane shutter and the Fuji switchable EVF.
Nikon interview at Dpreview gives us little hope about a “serious” mirrorless system camera launch
Dpreview interviewed Nikon managers at Photokina. Here are a couple of info:
- “For now we’ll keep Nikon 1 as usual.’ The sudden focus on KeyMission doesn’t take away from this“
- “Some manufacturers have tried to enter the DSLR market with their mirrorless camera or something. Our standpoint is different. Because our product mix covers full-frame and APS-C DSLR and the Nikon 1, these three product categories mean we offer to the full lineup and we receive each customer’s good reactions.“
Nikon makes it sounds as like they don’t need to make an APS-C or FF mirrorless system camera. But we know from past interviews that Nikon always is very “conservative” when it comes to information sharing. So let’s hope this is just an interview that “hides” their real FF mirrorless intentions…
Sony will announce the new FS7II on November 11. 16-35mm GM lens is also coming soon!
SonyAlphaRumors confirmed that Sony is going to launch a new E-mount FS7II camcorder on November 11. There is yet no word if Sony will also launch new E-mount lenses. But the 16-35mm f/2.8 Gm lens is definitely the next GM lens on the Sony roadmap!
