First leaked images of the new Fuji X100F
Fujirumors leaked the first images of the new X100F. The camera will be announced on Janaury 19 along the new X-T20.
Canon will announce the new G9X Mark II at CES in January
Nokishita reports that Canon will soon announce a new G9X Mark II camera. It is highly likely it will be announced at the CES show in early January. And it’s also highly likely that it will keep the “usual” Sony 20MP 1 inch sensor. Expect little improvements on the new version.
The current G9X model has a $100 dicsount at BHphoto.
The Panasonic GH5 price and specs will be unveield on January 4th.

After a long silence Panasonic will finally unveil the full GH5 specs on January 4th. The camera will than start to ship in March.

Dpreview tests the EOS-M5 and says it’s “a bit let down by the M5 on the whole,”
Dpreview posted the EOS-M5 review and concludes:
The M5 represents Canon’s continued commitment to the EOS M system, which we’re happy to see, and we should reinforce that for folks who think they may want to get into shooting video as well as stills, the EOS M5 will make that far easier than most of the competition. The M5 is, on the whole, a solid and capable camera for a wide variety of photography. Unfortunately, in the broader context of the mirrorless camera market, we can’t help but feel a bit let down by the M5 on the whole, and are already looking forward to seeing what the next EOS M will bring.
A good step forward but still not good enough to match the very best mirrorless on the market. That said what’s also missing are many EOS-M lenses. Canon really needs to get serious here too!
This could be a surprise: Canon next 6DmarKII will be….mirrorless?
There were already some hints that Canon could make a mirrorless system camera with the “old” EF mount. Canonwatch now got an unverified info saying the 6D successor may be the first Canon DSLR that is actually not a DSLR :)
The camera will be Full Frame and have EF mount but Canon will get rid of the mirror. This makes sense as it means that Canon doesn’t have to start a new mount system from scratch. The only downside is that if they keep the EF mount they cannot make smaller cameras. But I think the real arguments to buy a mirrorless cameras are others anyways…
Fuji says GFX successor is aiming for over 100 megapixel sensor.

Cinema5D posted an interesting video interview with Fuji. There are many interesting info including those three important points:
- Fuji is aiming to offer a 100+ Megapixel sensor on the future GFX successor
- On the new Fuji GFX the sensor readout speed isn’t enough for 4K video. But Fuji’s goal is to improve the readout on future sensors so that 4K is possible
- Fujiwill mainly develop fast prime lenses. And those lenses will all outresolve the future 100MP sensors.
It’s pretty certain now that Sony is developing a 100+ Megapixel 33x44mm 4K sensor.
