Images have a very natural appearence. Colors are true to life and I have the feeling that one can see that medium format look. This might be subjective, but I think they have more plasticity than smaller sensors could deliver. I’m mostly happy with my micro 43 cameras, but these files play clearly in another league. The look, the colors, dynamic range and of course noise–simply amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The X1D reminds me a lot of the Mamiya 7II, which was one of my favorite medium format cameras ever. The X1D’s small size, straightforward, no-nonsense approach to photography, like all Hasselblad cameras, helps you to concentrate on the image and not on the camera. In other words the camera doesn’t get in the way of the image.

The rumors written by other rumor sites that the Nikon DL would start shipping in march were plain wrong :(
Instead Nikon issue that note today:
Cancellation of release of the DL series of premium compact cameras
February 13, 2017
TOKYO – Nikon Corporation announced today that sales of the long-awaited DL series of premium compact camera, the DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8, DL24-85 f/1.8-2.8, and DL24-500 f/2.8-5.6, will be canceled.
A June, 2016 release was originally planned for the DL series. However, with the identification of issues with the integrated circuit for image processing, release of the three cameras was delayed indeterminately.
Since then, everyone involved has worked very hard to develop products with which our customers will be satisfied. However, it has been decided that sales of the DL series will be canceled due to concerns regarding their profitability considering the increase in development costs, and the drop in the number of expected sales due to the slow-down of the market.
We sincerely apologize to all those affected by this decision, especially those customers who waited so long for the cameras to be released, retailers and others whose business will be affected, for the inconvenience this decision may cause.
In Europe the Fuji GFX will start shipping out on February 26 at Calumet Germany. It will ship a couple of days later (March 1) in USA via BHphoto.

Both Micro Four Thirds companies will show new lens prototypes at the Cp+ show:
1) Panasonic will share some more clues on their next two Leica branded lenses (8-18mm f/2.8-4.0 and 50-200mm f/2.8-4.0)
2) Olympus will also show new lens prototypes. We have no specs yet but a new 17mm f/1.2 will certainly be announced sometimes this year.
I have no info on new MFT cameras yet…
