When will Nikon and Canon get into the professional mirrorless world? My take is in the next 8-12 months you will see what they’ve been working on.

The Japanese website Nikkei reports:
“Casio Computer has decided to withdraw from unprofitable compact digital camera”
That’s really bad news :(
Alexander Gee launched a new 3D printed camera project http://www.lexoptical.com/index.html.
The camera features an E-mount and shoots on film rolls. You will need to buy some sort of external optical viewfinder to at least get an idea of what you are shooting. And tremendous manual focusing skills are required too :)
The Japanese website SankeiBiz reported some info about the future Nikon high end camera:
– Development of the new mirrorless is advancing rapidly
– Goal is to release the camera within the current fiscal year (which means til March 2019).
– It will probably be shown at a large-scale overseas exhibition (I guess this means Photokina in September)
Within the same article they also confirm that Canon wants to become number one in the mirrorless market too.
An idea for a SONY a7V 3d Why Not? Notice the viewfinder and lens mount have been moved a few millimeters to the left in order to have better ergonomics. 4 dials have values on the digital top screen. Your thoughts? You may share. @SonyAlphaRumors @Sony @nikonrumors pic.twitter.com/e4rQJfMCW2

You could now have a camera a simple or as complicated as you would like. For retro style lovers, aperture, speed, ISO and ev, that would be heaven. What do you think? @nikonrumors pic.twitter.com/Iz67gInjJE— Mario CRESPI (@iudaismus) April 19, 2018
