I missed that crazy rumor: DJI and Huawei partnership withe the possibility of launching a new mirrorless camera system

A reader pointed me out to this crazy rumor posted on Weibo: According to this DJI and Huawei will work together to eventually launch an entirely new mirrorless camera system:

The news mentioned that DJI has strong technical strength in the field of drones and will apply its unique advanced anti-shake technology and intelligent flight shooting mode to system cameras. Huawei has rich experience and technology in the field of mobile photography, which can bring better image quality and more convenient operation experience.

Now, I really have no clue if this a solid rumor or more like BS. What I do truly believe is that chinese manufacturers have the skills and tech to create a new mirrorless system that can compete with the Japanese companies. And honestly, this would be good for competition!

A reader (Thanks!) sent me this image from the IBC show in Amsterdam. It’s a posted displaying all six 7Artisans autofocus E-mount lenses. The new lenses on top of the existing 50 and 85mm primes are:

Will DJI shake up the mirrorless camera industry?

An update about the new rumored DJI mirrorless system camera. We are still not sure it’s coming but early hints talk about the possibility of a DJI Full Frame L-mount camera. Not sure if it will be cine oriented or more like a hybrid model.

One thing is sure, if they do it they will make it a KILLER camera!
