Sigma CEO Kazuto Yamaki says most lenses on their roadmap are DC DN for Full Frame, APS-C and MFT

Sigma CEO Kazuto Yamaki unveiled the companies future lens strategy. He stated that their priority now is the release of new DC DN lenses:

Most new products in the future will be the DN series designed exclusively for mirrorless cameras. The DG DN series for full-size mirrorless, which is frequently requested, will be the core but we believe that we need to expand the DC DN series for APS-C (+ MFT), which is currently popular.

The bad news here is that he also stated previously that they do not plan to make lenses for the Fuji X system :(

Megapixel madness: Canon working on a new 150MP EOS-R camera?

CanonWatch is starting to hear whispers about a possible new crazy 150MP Canon EOS-R camera. This camera surely would be a headline grabber and attract the curiosity of the photography community. I am pretty sure Sony is working on a 100+ MP camera too that may become the future Sony A7rV.

Does it make sense to have 150MP images? Of course not….but who cares :)

Ted Forbes about the Nikkor 58mm f/0,95 lens: “designed to look incredible wide open”

Ted Forbes:

The Nikon Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S NOCT is the most expensive lens Nikon sells. Is it a marketing gimmick or the real deal? Nikon did not send this to me – in fact, I didn’t even ask. I rented this lens for a few weeks and shot a variety of subject matter – some studio work, still life, even street photography. This lens is absolutely fantastic if you like the look of extreme shallow depth of field. My favorite use for this lens is street photography at night with subjects between 10-20 feet from the camera. Its absolutely stunning. This lens is very different than both the Zeiss Otus series of lenses and the famous Leica Noctilux 50mm f/0.95. Its designed to look incredible wide open, it has a close focusing distance of about 18 inches, its big, its heavy, there is no autofocus and its obscenely priced.

This might be Canon’s next nine RF lenses…

Here is the list copied from CanonWatch about the possible next nine RF lenses:

Beautiful: Denis Shiryaev colorized 4K videos of Paris (1890), New York (1911) and Moscow (1896)

Denis Shiryaev created these three colorized videos from original Black And White old city movies. He used neural networks that helped him to create colorization for the ambiance. Note that these colors do not represent real historical data. But there is a lot more work done on these videos:

  • FPS boosted to 60 frames per second;
  • Image resolution boosted up to 4k;
  • Resorted video sharpness;
  • Colorized
