Ted Forbes: What I learned from COPYING a MASTER Photograph

Ted Forbes:

In our latest photo assignment, we’ve been studying the still life photographs of Josef Sudek. I’ve been working on a few of these myself and I want to share the results here. The key to think about when recreating these still life images is what is the intent? Once you start executing the details will tell you even more. This is a great way to learn how to see as well as understand the intention of the photographer.

Capture One will soon release a dedicated version of Capture One for Nikon users?

I just got this rumor about a possible Capture One PRO 20 for Nikon edition coming soon:

The new Capture One for Nikon will bring all the power of Capture One to dedicated Nikon users at a reduced price point, including tailored profiles for supported Nikon cameras. Unlike other RAW processors, Capture One’s camera profiles are uniquely developed for each specific camera model, a process that requires the use of the camera in and out of a controlled lab in Copenhagen, where a team of specialists engage each new model in various scenarios. Nikoneye
They then evaluate all the performance parameters such as color, sharpness, and noise across hundreds of images and uses that data to deliver a truly tailored profile, which ultimately provides the best post-processing experience. Capture One for Nikoneye, like the Pro version, brings this level of support for Nikon cameras, including their latest cameras like the Z6, Z7, and D6.

For the X time Olympus reconfirms: “we have no plans to sell our business, despite the rumors”

Imaging Resource interviewed Olympus manager Masanori Sako and for the 13,346 time Olympus said the camera division is not for sale :)

We can clearly say that we have no plans to sell our business, despite the rumorsThe consumer business really leads in developing new technologies for us, that are then sometimes used in other divisions, like medical and life science products. Our role besides our own [imaging] business, is really to lead technology and innovation for the entire company. So yes, we will continue this business.
