Possibly first leaked image of the new Panasonic S5II
This could be the first image of the new Panasonic S5II. The camera is rumored to feature a new autofocus system (unclear if it has Lidar). And it might be announced on January 4th.
Strong speculations about the new Panasonic S5 Mark II being released at Cp+ and having the new phase detection autofocus system
On the web I see many speculating with a release of the new Panasonic S5II ate the CES show. It’s also said it will be Panasonic’s first S camera with phase detection AF (maybe even Lidar!). So let’s start with the facts:
- Yes, Panasonic held a big secret meeting in Tokyo with many famous youtubers and reviewers. So obviously something big is coming soon.
- Panasonic has a scheduled CES press conference on January 4th. But so far there is no hint or teaser about some camera related announcement.
And now to my speculation:
- I do believe the S5II will be the next new camera to be announced by Panasonic.
- I am not sure if it’s coming at the CES show but the fac they fahd that big Tokyo meeting surely suggests there is something coming soon
- While I am certain they will have a new autofocus system I am not sure if this means they will implement the new LIDAR tech. It might be the “Normal” phase detection AF
Anyway, let’s see what’s going to happen on Jan 4th!
Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 APS-C lens for Fuji/Sony to be announced on December 26
The X-mount version of the new Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 APS-C autofocus lens got leaked. According to the leaker there will be an E-mount version too once it’s announced on December 26th!
Fujifilm to Launch Two Tilt Shift Lenses for GFX in 2023
Fujirumors reports that Fuji will launch two TS-GFX lenses in 2023. The speculation is that those might be the Fujinon GF21mmF4 TS and Fujinon GF30mmF4 TS.
Soon Sony will announce two new lenses: 20-70mm f/4.0 G and the 16-35mm f/2.8 GM II
Sony will soon announce these two new FE lenses:
- 20-70mm f/4.0 G
- 16-35mm f/2.8 GM II
Both are expected to be announced before the CP+ show in February.
Panasonic might announce a new 13-35mm lens this week…will there also be some big autofocus Lidar news?
A usually very reliable Japanese source sad that Panasonic will announce a new “H-ES12035” lens this week! I don’t know yet if this lens will be a successor of the current 12-35mm f/2.8 II lens (seen on the image on top). Here are the rumored specs:

- Announcement Mid-December
