Samyang says doing MFT and X autofocus lenses is possible

Focus Numerique interviewed the Samyang managers at Photokina. There are two interesting points:

  1. Samyang said doing MFT and X-mount autofocus lenses is possible. But the market for those kind of lenses is small so they still don’t know if they will do it
  2. Samyang said they will start to make zoom lenses too. First for the XEEN cine lens line. And after that for the “normal” photography world.

Sony is still going to announce a new FE lens in October?

I guess most companies will not announce any new product this year. But Sony may be an exception! They still have some E-mount stuff to come. SAR reports a 10mm f/2.8 STF FE lens could be announced in October. It’s still unclear if Sony will also announce a new E-mount camera. The A7m3, A5300 and the A9 are the hottest candidates…

Just a FF Nikon camera concept

In an interview with CameraJabber Jordi Brinkman, Nikon’s European Product Group Manager revealed a couple of interesting things:

  1. The Nikon 1 system isn’t dead! The lack of new products is only caused by the longer product life cycles than before
  2. When asked about the possibility of a Nikon FF mirrorless he says: “I’m not saying we’re announcing a full-frame mirrorless camera, but it’s definitely something we’re analysing a lot, looking at the market very closely; it’s on our radar.”
