There were already some hints that Canon could make a mirrorless system camera with the “old” EF mount. Canonwatch now got an unverified info saying the 6D successor may be the first Canon DSLR that is actually not a DSLR :)

The camera will be Full Frame and have EF mount but Canon will get rid of the mirror. This makes sense as it means that Canon doesn’t have to start a new mount system from scratch. The only downside is that if they keep the EF mount they cannot make smaller cameras. But I think the real arguments to buy a mirrorless cameras are others anyways…

Cinema5D posted an interesting video interview with Fuji. There are many interesting info including those three important points:

1. Fuji is aiming to offer  a 100+ Megapixel sensor on the future GFX successor
2. On the new Fuji GFX the sensor readout speed isn’t enough for 4K video. But Fuji’s goal is to improve the readout on future sensors so that 4K is possible
3. Fujiwill mainly develop fast prime lenses. And those lenses will all outresolve the future 100MP sensors.

It’s pretty certain now that Sony is developing a 100+ Megapixel 33x44mm 4K sensor.

Fujirumors reports quite a surprising news: Fuji will introduce two new X cameras on January 19! The surprise is that we will not only see the new X100F but also the new X-T20!

Fuji really goes ALl-in lately. The past 12 months they announced so many cameras I actually wonder what’s left for the rest of the 2017 year…

The Leica M10 will be announced in mid January as you read first here on Mirrorlessrumors. The image above got leaked a month ago and finally we also have the a few specs:

it is as small as an analogue M camera

Nikon registered a new camera model with the code “N1610”. This is likely to be a new Nikon 1 camera model. Once registered it takes up to 1-2 months until the camera gets announced. So expect it to be announced between the CES and Cp+ show.

In 2016 Sony had quite a weird release strategy. We did not get any new FF E-mount camera but instead we got two very similar APS-C E-mount cameras. First the A6300 and then the A6500. Well 2017 promises to be quite different with a focus on FF cameras. These are the new cameras and lenses we can hope to get in 2017:

1. Sony A7 mark III. Release before Summer. Has new 24MP sensor with improved AF and dual card slot
2. Sony High End Professional camera (named A7rIII or A9): 70+ Megapixel sensor, duals slot card. Priced like the 1DX2 and D5.
3. 16-35mm f/2.8 GM lens
4. STF FE autofocus lens
5. Telephoto zoom lens (like 70-400mm f4-5.6 G)
6. telephoto prime lens (like 300mm f2.8G)
7. wideangle lens (like 24mm zeiss)
8. standard zoom lens (like 24-105mm)

And quite some folks on the web is joking about a new A6700 release too :)

Fuji had to discontinue the 10 months old X70 camera because Sony suddenly Sony decided to stop producing that sensor. Fujirumors writes:

Sony’s decision surprised Fujifilm, since it came without much advanced warning (usually Sony gives a much longer advanced warning when it comes to end of sensor production, so that companies can adjust their strategy according to Sony’s sensor plans).
