Two new leaked Leica SL3 images
You really don’t see that much but those two images appeared on Weibo today. All you can learn from this is that the SL3 has button illumination function! Quite cool :)
New Lumix all-in-one zoom will be announced this week
How2Fly reports that Panasonic will announce a new “all-in-one zoom” this week. The lens was already teased on the official roadmap from Panasonic Germany (“VW bis Tele”).
If you look at the extension of the blue line it looks like a 28-180mm lens or something like that.
Bummer: Canon R1 not coming any time soon!
As expected, all those rumors were totally unfounded. The Canon R1 is not coming any time soon!
I told you previously to not trust all those specs you read on the web, and I told you my trusted sources did not get ANYTHING about a possible Canon R1 release any time soon. Latest rumors do now say that we will get first a new R5II in late Spring and the R1 sometimes after that.
What’s weird is that there are no rumors of possible gear announcement for the Cp+ show. Is Canon really going to release NOTHING? Hopefully we will get some new lens like the 35mm f/1.2 for example…

Finally some sign of life from OM Digital: New OM-1II, 9-18mm mark II and 150-600mm lens coming on January 30
After 111 months of silence OM Digital will at last announce three new MFT products on January 30 at 6am London time:
- OM-1II
- 9-18mm II
- 150-600mm f/5.0-6.3
Let’s get into the details of this starting from a disappointment: The OM-1II will use the same OM-1 sensor and processing engine. The real changes will be:
- Rebranded as OM SYSTEMS (as you know the OM-1 still has the Olympus name on it).
- Double the internal buffer memory
- 14bit raw for High resolution mode
- human AI recognition
- better focusing system
The OM-1II should be priced at 2400 Euro (a bit more than $2,000 in the US).
I got no detail on the 9-18mm II so I guess it’s just a re-branded version of the current 9-18mm lens.
The most exciting news is the announcement of the 150-600mm 5f/.0-6.3:
- Not a PRO lens
- But I have been told it has very high image quality
- 2699 Euro is the price (around $2,500 in the USA)
I actually SAW the lens but I cannot share images yet. If you have images I can share please send me those using the anonymous contact box or by writing me at 43rumors@gmail.com.
