On February 24 (USA time) Sigma will announce the new 28-70mm f/2.8 FE lens. This lens will cost around $900. Sigma will hold a special event on Feb 25 10am (Tokyo time).

Sony will announce the new FX3 on February 23.

Well known youtuber Michael The Maven claims that the Canon R5 has a Sensor Misalignment Issue that causes to not have 100% Sharp Images with Any Lens. Not sure what to think about this…maybe he is wrong, maybe he has a defect camera or maybe it’s really widespread?

2020 has been a horror year for the camera industry. COVDI-19. Luckily we can expect the market to recover a bit in 2021 .CIPA also published a forecast where they expect interchangeable lens shipments to increase 13% in 2021. Doesn’t sound big I know…but at least it will be the first year of sales increase after a decade.

Well, don’t know if I would buy this :)

OM Digital issued a press release to claim they now have the number 1 share in Japan among all different camera mount systems. All good so far…but it’ not like they had a role YET in this :) They also promised that at the CPplus show they will finally “talk about the future of OM-D”.. Now hopefully they can give us some confidence in the future of MFT. By the way Panasonic…what’s your plan with MFT?

Fuji just announced five new products

1. The new GFX100 medium format camera is available at BHphoto and Adorama.
2. The new 80mm f/11.7 medium format lens is available at BHphoto and Adorama.
3. The new X-E4 camera is available at BHphoto and Adorama.
4. The new 70-300mm lens is available at BHphoto and Adorama.
5. The new 27mm pancake is available at BHphoto and Adorama.

So the medium format Fuji is cheaper than the new Sony A1 :)  Of course I am comparing apple with oranges but years ago you could never have imagined this to become true!
