The Sony NEX-3n specs are out and the camera will be announced next Monday (Feb 25th). These are the specs:

  • 16MP Exmor APS-C sensor (same as NEX-F3)
  • ISO range: 200-16,000
  • 4fps
  • Tiltable LCD screen
  • Electronic zoom control
  • BIONZ processor
  • Built-in flash (GN6)
  • Available in two colors: black and silver
  • Price for body with 16-50mm kit lens $499

There will be an even bigger NEX announcement in April with the new NEX-7 successor and new lenses!

What kind of focusing? Contrast only (like current nex f3) or contrast and phase like 5r? You said same sensor, so I’d assume the first, but maybe (hopefully) I’m wrong.

Did you receive any specs of nex-7 successor?

So how is this much different from the NEX-F3? The only difference I see is the extra zoom control and slower fps. What else does this new upgrade offer?

    • no name

      Better look.

The 3N is coming in two colors: Black and silver…

But the pic´s showing a white one 😉

I just hope the coming NEX-7N has exactly the same form factor as the NEX7 so I can upgrade to the hybrid focusing system, new improved firmware and software controls for my underwater Nauticam NA-NEX7 housing. The housing and ports cost 3X what the camera body goes for. It would be nice to upgrade without changing the entire housing system, which is usually the case. Keeping my fingers crossed that the rumor sites who say the form factor is the same are correct.

Ity has a new generation Sony sensor and a new generation EVF. That is what I have been told!
