Canon announcement on March 22th. New Samsung NX2000 coming too?

Canon: It looks like soon we are going to see how small that mini Canon DSLR is. According to CR the announcement is scheduled for next week March 22.
Samsung: And also Samsung may will have an announcement soon. After the NX1100 there may be a new NX2000 too! An anonymous source even pointed me out to that link on Google Plus where image samples taken with the NX2000 are shown (is it real?).
Olympus and Panasonic are going to launch their new MFT cameras in April. I still have no news about Fuji and Ricoh-Pentax announcements…

4 months ago |I am looking forward to the canon small DSLR bc I hope to see a nikon EM digital. It could fit a need for a backup or hiking DSLR.
as for your deted mirror thing… I have used a lot of EVFs over the years and do not see them able to replace OVFs (yes even the newest ones). The EVF is fine for vacation or just normal use but the battery drain, lower DR and the ghosting when panning are all problems that will not be solved quickly if ever and when you compared it to looking directly though the glass I fail to see what an EVF brings to the table other than live histogram. A customizable overlay is all I would like to see in the next wave of DSLRs (histogram, better level systems etc)

If you are doing manual focus, it allows you to actually tell if you are in sharp focus. This is critical. Electronic viewfinder magnification and focus peaking is a huge advance for accurate manual focusing. Many DSLR’s are optimized for autofocus and prevent accurate focusing with an optical viewfinder. For example, they use focus screens that brighter but less accurate because they cut off at f/2.8 so that if you are using a lens at f/1.4 you cannot actually see what is in focus or not.

I would say i enjoy using a split screen more (Katzeye) than the zooming or peek focuse on an EVF but the built in aspect of manual focus is an advantage that I over looked.

what i concern is …. in CR…. there’s a strange sentence…
the EOS 100D was “a bit expensive”
If the 100D is the mini-dSLR , What made it “a bit expensive”? it will made sense if it’s a FF CMOS…. but if true , what made 6D exist? only a cheap budget camera?
Beside of this , the OVF is my next concern….650D is small , so do the OVF…. the tiny “hole” is the main reason made me bought the 7D…if there’s a smaller dSLR exist , how the OVF be? same as the size of G15? then i think it will be a very bad idea….
Also….
IF it’s “a bit expensive” , but reserving the AF performance , OVF coverage , other performance same as the 650D…. what made you bought this little piece of s it?
what i think is , if it keep in very small size but selling at a high price , it must be something special…i think it’s not a beginner camera , but a pro camera in smaller size with some special feature or technology…. let’s put an eye and see…

4 months ago |Canon really is clueless now. They will continue to atract sufficient sales on name alone, but they are lacking in innovation and their careless attitude and give-the-bare-minimum approach to anything below professional-level cameras is going to result in a significant decrease in sales to enthusiasts. I am a Canon user, but it is time for me to get a new camera and Canon doesn’t have anything that I am interested in, which is a shame. If they were smart, they would bring out something competitive with the Fuji X-Series cameras with interchangeable lenses. But no! They are stuck with old ideas and no innovation, which is going to hurt them over the next few years.
