A (unlikely?) Sony NEX roadmap rumor from China
Real or not this is the very last rumor floating around the chines XITEK forum. While I am pretty sure the NEX-F3 rumor the rest could be a “fake” guess. Anyway, I hope the rumor is real because I like that rumored Full Frame NEX-9
Sony NEX roadmap:
NEX the F3, C3, an upgraded version, 2012 (March)
NEX 5G, 18.3 million pixels, as the upgrade version of 5N 2012 (September)
Full Frame NEX in late 2013.

2 years ago |Yes, it is! Try a Bravia. The 3D is astonishingly good for a consumer TV! LOL!

2 years ago |Oh come on, I’m sure that by 2013 they will have 5 lenses! At least! Right on time for the full frame NEX so they can start their lens lineup all over. Perfect.

2 years ago |It’s 7 already from Sony. 1 from tamron and 2 from sigma. 1 fisheye from samyang. 11 in total. Not to mention those shitty SLR magic and stuff.

Thx god for focus peaking. MF rules!!
Sounds sweet
What about build in evf? That’s the biggest disadvantage of 5′s.

2 years ago |Id be very surprised if they did a full frame NEX. Surely none of the current lenses project a full frame image circle so it would have to have a new lens standard. Sony are struggling to get enough lenses out now without fragmenting their market further.
In seriously looking at buying a highend mirrorless at the moment and I’m put off the NEX7 by the fact that there’s only one good lens and it’s huge. Makes the whole thing bulky and hard to carry.

2 years ago |I am interested in a Nex-7 too, and has been looking for lenses: 1 HQ and 2-3 decent and a few poor. Much like m43 in early stages. The way to utilise the potential t Nex-7 has, is today to use MF lenses; Leica, Zeiss, Voigtländer etc. That covers some of my photography – if you shoot from tripod the time to manual focus is no problem. For street photo there is the Zeiss – and only that.
Note: The NEX lenses are big, but not heavy.
This leak (?) camera roadmap is ambitious, you cannot say that about the official Nex lens roadmap. Sony made the Nex-7, great, but they seems to have no idea about what kind of photo people would buy this camera.

2 years ago |I would say that the nex 7/zeiss 24 combo is a bit overblown by many posters here. If you have tried and think its still too large, then ok. I would prefer it over my 5d 35mm/2 zeiss combo. Lighter, and actually smaller. It may not be smaller length wise, but it is sidewise and its easier to carry on any of my billinghams. I have a hadley pro and I could fit 2 nex 7s side to side. One with the zeiss 24mm, one with the 35mm nokton 1.2. This, of course, is if they are at the bottom of the bag, but if we can put one on top of another, then I can fit 4 with the same sized lenses. I can only carry 2 (tightly fit) 5d mark iis and any respective lens unless one of them has the voigtlander 40mm attached.
dpreview has a great comparison side to side in volume nex 7 and the fuji x pro 1. Both, with the lenses attached, are very close lengthwise, but the nex wins in the other 2 axis in size. So, really, volume wise the nex is compact after all. Think of a Leica m9 and a 35mm 1.4 and see the size of that. Obviously, other lenses are smaller but if this is the compromise reached for quality for the 24mm, i am very happy with the results that it outweights the size issue.

2 years ago |There is absolutely no evidence to support ANY credibility of that rumor. The particular user account on xitek.com seems to have registered just to post that rumor. The user has no history, and no other postings. The rumor itself is composed in a way that shows no expertise or good knowledge of the Sony products. It could be someone who simply wanted to post something that he wished to see. If this kind of rumor should be posted here, anyone can start a rumor and get it immediately circulated. That would be the death of a rumor site. As you know, paradoxically, the popularity of a rumor site is based on the notion that people believe what is being rumored has a very high likelihood to happen. Once that prospect of likelihood is hurt, the appeal of rumors disappears.

2 years ago |Nah, the reasons rumor sites exists is that people are bored to death and have nothing better to do than check this page ten times a day. Fake rumors aren’t going to change that.

2 years ago |I think many visit the rumor sites, not for the rumors, but for the conversations that they invoke.
And who knows, some of the information could be leaks by the camera makers——as in the form of trial balloons.

2 years ago |I am scared of Sony as a company. They might just get bored and dump the nex if they think of some other bright idea.
It seems Nex will be a modern body for legacy lenses and MF for at leas a few zears more.
Those current ones or any other they might think of a huge monsters… Hardly atractive or practical. Ad that to the awfull ergonomics of the NEX and you get pretty expensive but technicaly superior turd.

After having X-100, I have no problem of waiting for it. I’m actually more interested in a/e hybrid mount for NEX.
