Samsung NX500 and NX3300 can already be preordered in Netherland :)

Let’s hope this isn’t just a joke form those crazy Dutch guys. But the store fototuerlings.nl is already accepting preorders on the NX500!

The camera costs 999 Euro and has the following specs:

28M BSI CMOS sensor
Hybrid Auto focus system (phase detection + contrast AF) with 205 AF points
9 frames per second continuous shooting
New SMART option: GEO tagging, 4x faster Wifi connection, Bluetooth etc.
2.5K (Quad HD) movie
UHD Time Laps Video
Tilt flip-up Super AMOLED display with Touch
Dual control wheel

This morning we also spotted another camera named NX3300 which will be the new very entry level NX camera and cost 499 Euro (Source: Fotosemeins.nl). But that NX500 could really become a hotseller. NX1 sensor in a smaller and cheaper package…has to be great :)

Next big Samsung prediction. Says “Mirrorless will outsell DSLRs ‘in three years”

Byungdeok Nam, Senior Vice President of Samsung’s R&D team has been interviewed at Dpreview. I really like what Samsung is doing on the technological front but I have to say their market prediction regarding mirrorless were always wrong in the past. So I wouldn’t trust the latest statement they made in their new interview:

I wouldn’t like to say, but since 2008 when mirrorless systems were announced, mirrorless didn’t grow very rapidly. In the last year, however, market reports are predicting that in 2018/19 mirrorless cameras will outsell DSLRs.

It’s certainly more interesting to read about the NX1 development story. To design and make the NX1 sensor they worked for three years. And the NX1 development goal was:

Full-frame, high-end DSLRs. The ones around the $5000 level. That’s our benchmark.

They certainly did an extremely good job with the NX1!
