New Ricoh GR to be announced soon? And Panasonic LF1 coming too.

Sources form Digicaminfo unveiled that a new APS-C premium Ricoh GR camera is going to be announced soon. It will be very close to the current Nikon Coolpix A camera that uses a 28mm f/2.8 lens. Also Panasonic will announce a high end compact camera in late April. it will have an integrated viewfinder but no large sensor like the Ricoh Nikon or other APS-C premium compacts.

Fuji X PRO 2 to come by end of this year. With dual processor.

The Fuji X PRO 1 has been announced 15 months ago and is still a unique camera. But the cheaper X-E1 and the brand new X100s gave us the feeling that an updated X PRO cameras has to come soon. And indeed a first rumor has been published by Fujirumors where they say that the next X camera to come is the X PRO 2 with dual processor to remove the EVF lag and speed up the image processor engine. The camera is likely to be announced the second half of the year.

Now that’s just my wishlist but I hope a new generation X Trans sensor is going to be used by the X PRO 2!

Google Caches caches Techradar GF6 preview.

Techrada erroneusly posted and quickly removed the GF6 preview. But Google was too quick for them and chached the full preview. The camera style suggets that it has been now placed right in between the current GF and GX series. And it may means that it will rpelace both the GF5 and GX1.

Both the new GF6 and G6 will be announced on April 9th! And don’t forget that Sony has a live show on Sunday April 7th. But sadly, no new NEX camera is going to be announced :(

Panasonic announcement on April 9th, Sony on April 7th.

Finally we ill see the light of plenty of new products:

1) Panasonic set an announcement for April 9th. The new GF6 and G6 are going to be unveiled and both will likely use the same 16 Megapixel GX1 sensor. And both mark the end of the minuaturization. The GF6 and the G6 are bigger than its rpedecessors!

2) Sony will have an announcement on a quite unusual way. They chosed Sunday(!) for the announcement of their new camcorders. No new NEX camera should come but maybe Hasselblad and Zeiss will announce respectively their Lunar cameras and the three prime lenses.

The NAB show is a very “video” oriented show. It means that I don’t expect pure camera makers like Olympus to announce something. As long as I know a new wave of cameras and lenses will be announced in late April-early may by many companies.

The new GF and G and the Hasselblad Lunar to be announced soon…

Panasonic and Hasselblad will announce new mirrorless cameras in early April. Ok, let’s face it, the Hasselblad Lunar isn’t really a new cameras…it’s a NEX-7 with a luxurious chassis. You can opt for one of the five designs displayed on Hasselblad-Lunar.com. Price for that luxury is over $5,000.

A lot more cheaper cameras are going to be announced by Panasonic on April 9th. The cameras will be a minor update over the predecessors. No fancy new sensor and no big new tech but many small improvements here and there. The probably most interesting news is that the new GF will be very similar to the current GX making the current GX1 basically…useless (from a marketing point of view). I guess dramatically “different” GX2 is on the horizon…
