Samsung leaks a 300mm f/2.8 XF-ED lens on youtube
After Sony also Samsung decided to commit a leak suicide ![]()
The video you can see on top contains the picture of a new 300mm f/2.8 XF-ED lens. Certainly an intentional leak from Samsung and also not the first one (Click here to see the NX camera/lens roadmap” leak”). It’s called viral marketing!
That’s the lens:

Nice or not?
A reader noticed that: “the focus ring turns in the opposite direction to other NX lenses“.

Did you see the huge mirror lenses at 1:20?

3 years ago |Yes! I was wondering if it was for the 300mm NX lens.

Miserere
3 years ago |They have said they plan to release an “NX1″ line of cameras above the NX10, so the answer to your question might be “yes”.

3 years ago |Why on earth would anyone want a 300 f/2.8 for a camera as small as the Samsung NX series…?

3 years ago |I’m using a Nikon 300mm f2.8 with a 2x extender on Panasonic G1 and GH2.
This gives me effective maximum aperture of 5.6 and 24x magnification.
Have taken some good moon shots with the set-up, as well as birds and other wildlife.
The “smallness” of a camera as good as the current mirrorless designs is irrelevant to making excellent telephoto images. Now, if I could get a
good 300/2.8 for APS-C or 4/3, and better yet 400/3.5 or 600/4.0, that is
as good as my Nikon glass I would be even further ahead, as a more modern lens will be shorter and lighter.
However, I wouldn’t want to pay more than a good used SLR lens such as my Nikon – under $2000 and new fast, good quality big telephotos for APS-C and MFT will sell well.
