Sony graph shows how mirrorless is growing in all parts of the world.

At the Sony A7m2 presentation in Japan Sony showed the graph you see here on top (Source: DC.watch). it shows how the mirrorless system camera market is growing compared to the DSLR market. The blue bar shows the market percentaga of mirrorless in the system camera market:

– Half ot the system cameras sold in Japan and Korea are mirrorless
– US is the “weakest market” with only 11% of share
– Mirrorless is growing in all amrkets (althaigh at different speeds).

INteresting additional note from Sony: half of the A7/r/s camera owners never owned a Sony camera before those!

Sony A7II announced!

Sony Japan announced the A7II! And it will cost around $1,500 and ship on December 5 already!

It has an amazing fast hybrid AF and the Olympus “Borrowed” 5 axis stabilization!

 

 

The full Sony FE body attack: Sony A7II coming in these days. A9 coming in January!

Well, Sony is really crazy busy at releasing new bodies. According to Digicameinfo they will announce the Sony A7II soon (within days) and the A9 in January (according to SonyAlphaRumors).

And these are the A7II specs:
– 24.3 million pixels FF sensor
– 5-axis in body stabilization (same as the Olympus E-M1)
– LCD monitor 3.0-inch 1.23 million dot. 107 degrees up, and tilt 41 degrees below
– EVF 0.5-inch 2.36 million dot
– ISO100-25600 (extended with ISO50). Video ISO200-25600
– The shutter speed is 30 seconds -1/8000 seconds
– 270 sheets at the number of possible shots EVF use. LCD monitor when using 350 sheets
– Continuous shooting 2.5 frames / sec. When speed priority continuous shooting 5 frames / sec.
– Video XAVC S, AVCHD, MP4
– The battery is NP-FW50
– The size of 126.9mm x 95.7mm x 59.7mm
– Weight 599g (including battery and memory)
– Vertical position grip VG-C2EM (sold separately)
– Media Memory Stick PRO Duo / PRO-HG Duo / XC-HG Duo, SD / SDHC / SDXC (UHS-I compatible)

The A7II is basically a Full Frame OMD :)

 

High End Sony A9 to be announced in February.

The Sony A9 will be announced in February and be the first real Full Frame DSLR competitor. The mirrorless E-mount A9 will have all the things needed to be “PRO”:

– Worlds fastest autofocus in normal light conditions
– Close to 50MP FF sensor
– weather sealed body

The last bastion of DSLR market is now getting competition form the mirrorless world!
