New Samsung NX200 rumors (again from Russia!)
It looks like Russia is the main source to find Samsung leaks! There is a new one at forum.ixbt (no google translation available).
They claim to have tested the new NX200 and it has a very easy and fast focusing. It has a more professional look, new comfortable grip and it is smaller than the current NX100!
If some of our russian readers could help us a bit with the translation we would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Today I had a chance to use the NX200: first impressions are very positive. AF is indeed very fast (not worse than G3). The NX200 looks stylish and professional, notably smaller, grip more comfortable albeit too small for my hand. The traditional high quality screen. I have liked it most out of the whole Samsung’s range (NX100 and NX200 – worlds apart). With the new 18-200 lens it looks quite reputable. Couldn’t test the IQ, since I had an engineering sample. Couple of weeks later I should have a mass produced sample, hopefully, and would make a comparison with NEX, G3 and D7000.
The 18-200 is expected to have the best price for a brand lens of the class – compared with the DSLR and the mirrorless competitors (“brand lens” – the Canon/Nikon/Sony, not the Sigma/Tamron/Tokina), what makes the price of the kit a much better bargain (or “makes the kit a better value”). Price of the Sony’s 18-200 scares many away (the size of the Samsung’s lens is very similar).

2 years ago |Thank you Dummy and Admin. I’m waiting for the NX200 like a child waiting for a candy and I appreciate every little or big information about it

2 years ago |Well, it’s not much information really – except the confirmation of the NX200 and the 18-200 launches in some weeks from now.

2 years ago |It says: “Today I tested Samsung NX200: impressions are very good. Focusing is very fast (comparable to Panasonic G3). NX200 looks stylish and professional, grip is comfortable, despite it’s too small for my hand (comparable to NEX-5). Screen is traditionally in good quality. It’s best Samsung design so far (NX100 vs NX200 as Earth vs Sky). With the new 18-200 lens it looks quite solid. I could not verify the image quality, I had pre-production camera. After 2 weeks there will be production camera. I hope I could make comparison with G3, NEX and D7000.
The price for 18-200 is expected to be lower than brand competitors (I mean Canon/Nikon/Sony, not Sigma/Tamron/Tokina), that makes camera+lens for a better price. The Samsung lens is as big as Sony 18-200.
The flash unit is attachable (comes with camera) – new and compact.
NX200 looks pretty similar to upcoming NEX-7 (as on internet pictures)

2 years ago |I have used a Samsung NX200 today: my first impressions are very positive. The AF is very fast indeed (in nothing inferior to Panasonic G3). NX200 looks stylishly and professionally, it is also appreciably more copact, the grip is more comfortable, although a bit too small for my hands. The screen is traditionally good. With respect to design I like it best of the whole Samsung collection По дизайну понравился больше всего из всего самсунговского ассортимента (the NX100 is a far cry from the NX200). Together with the new 18–200 lens it looks quite solid. I could not still evaluate the image quality as I had a preproduction sampler in hand. I to get a production item in two weeks and hope to be able to compare it to (Sony) NEX, G3 and D7000.
The 18-200 is expected to have the best price among branded lenses of its class compared to its DSLR and mirrorless rivals (I am speaking about Canon/Nikon/Sony, not Sigma/Tamron/Tokina), this making the kit noticeably more competitive. The price of a Sony 18-200 discourages many potential buyers (the size of the Samsung lens being practically the same).
The Panasonic G3 is in stock now. It costs 29999 roubles. Far too expensive for a camera like that, it turns a niche product due to its price. I think it goes down to 24999 in half a year 24999, the demand grows notably than.

Same user.
1) NX200 have new removable ultracompact flash for standart “hot shoe”
2) NX200 have neither flippable screen not EVF. EVF will be in NX11 successor

2 years ago |Well , it seems have big change beside of the PQ. But this change is good enough for me already:)
I’m still seeking for a compact mirrorless, still waiting for the NX200, if it couldn’t catch my heart, I’ll go for E-P3

I like those parts…
Thanks Dummy for translation…

2 years ago |There was nothing in the post about there not being an EVF.
“Couldn’t test the IQ, since I had an engineering sample”
it may have features that won’t be in the production version, the opposite may also be true.

from what I understand from what was written, it was a quick look, and maybe a short hands on, short enough that he didn’t get too good a look, otherwise there would have been more details in his 2 posts.

2 years ago |The nx100 is now discontinued in my local area and one shop had it for 299 usd. If this rumor is true it wouldnt be surprising seeing as how samsung needed to make the nx100 a little bit smaller and with a rubberized grip for better handling. my guess is that it would look somewhat compact in design like the ex-1 while retaining some curves like the nx100. One things for sure, it will at least look more solid than the nx100, maybe in all black or a black and silver mixture like the olympus ep3..though this is just my fun guess. I pray though, that Samsung does not take away the mode knob and kill its ease of use like what panasonic and sony did to their nex gf-2-3 csc cameras.
As for the view finder I dont expect one because that line is made for compactness and for it to have a built in viewfinder would drastically alter the cameras lines and take up space for the amoled screen. I would assume Sammy will also redesign a new external evf for it as the one for the nx100 is designed for the look of the nx100. My biggest gripe with the nx100 was the “hollow” feeling of the camera, not that it’s fragile, but the nx100 felt like it had some air pockets in it.lol…so its a good guess that the nx200 will feel as sharp as a barbers razor compared to its predecessor. I cant wait, and i already have the nx10 and nx100!! LOL

2 years ago |Thank you to all the people who know Russian that provided translations! I get the feeling it’s gonna look more like the EX1/TL500. The leaked pics of the Nex7 sort of remind me of the EX1. That’s a good think IMO. The EX1 is a good looking camera and has a great feel. It’s a pity it won’t have a swivel screen though. Still, I’m anxious to see what Samsung comes out with. I think they’re gonna have a winner on their hands.

“Q: Is it true that it has built EVF?
A: No. This option is for the successor of NX11, which will be later.”
NEX 7 for me then.

2 years ago |just saw the article about the Sony nex7. this thing does look good, if it’s true, and it has a built in viewfinder. There’s just one big problem…its’ supposed to be 1200 dollars! I dont think the samsung with an external evf will even reach 900usd. At 1200 the sony better be able to make fresh orange juice as well. And the Zeiss lenses for it wont make sony alot of money either. the ps3′s games and psp’s make sony alot of money, not a thousand dollar lenses…not in this world economy. the sony nex7 may be a great camera no one can afford.
Look at the sony a77, its practically taken a life time to come out, and most local camera stores in my area dont even stock sony dlrs anymore…and sooner or later they wont even stock slt’s either.
Sony achilles heel is minolta, and knowing their history, the choice is clear for me. Samsung nx all the way.

2 years ago |It does make fresh orange juice… from all my legacy glass gems if indeed it does have a 3MP OLED EVF and focus peaking.
L.Da.V.
2 years ago |3mp oled vf is still not an optical vf. by the time you focus on one thing with your gems, someone with an af lens can focus on 4 other things.LOL. If you like manual focusing, get a rangefinder..but if you like focus assist peaking, be my guest…subject trgeted..focusing, focusing…bar is peaking..peaking, peaking, there, now subject is in focus..oops, subject is looonnngg gone.
Chuckie
2 years ago |Yes, with focus peaking assist..subject will be long gone by the time you focus. Better get the sony to make you orange juice while you wait for the peak. LOL

Some more info from that user:
1. No built-i EVF.
2. The screen is fixed (not tilting, not articulating)
3. The screen does not have touch capabilities
Chuckie
2 years ago |No touch capabilities? amen to that, Look what happened to the Panasonic gf2 and 3. Articulating screen is nice, but if it helps keep the price down, than it not that big of a deal, esp if they release a new evf to go with it.
