Fuji X PRO 1 in Venice, Amsterdam and tomorrow in USA (And new reviews).

During my work in Venice I spotted the Fuji X PRO 1 in a small store close to Canal Grande. Actually a bog surprise for me to see it there! P.S.: I didn’t buy it because the price was actually higher than the price set by Fuji. Another X PRO 1 has been spotted in Holland at Fotohanskeuzekamp (see image on top). And if all works fine than also our USA readers will have the chance see the X PRO 1 in Stock at BHphoto tomorrow (Click here).
Now let’s talk about the new X PRo 1 tests and reviews that have been posted around the web:
- The Hyperprime 50mm f/0.95 got tested on the new X PRo 1 at f8photography (Click here).
- Image samples at Letsgodigital (Click here).
- X PRO 1 review by Derekclarkphotography (Click here) who says “The sensor alone makes the X-Pro1 worth buying, but even if it had the same sensor as the X100, it would still be a great camera and I highly recommend it.”
- Wedding pictures at The Scades (Click here).
- second look and video mode at EosHD (Click here).
- Another review at Cederphotography (Click here) and he compared the image quality with the 5DmarkII (not the new markIII).
Enjoy the reading!

2 years ago |So – booth Admin of this site and the collegue of Fujirumors has been in Venice and spotted a X-pro1 in a shop… What a small world of rumors?
admin
2 years ago |We are now three guys. Close friends working on rumors
And soon others will join but they will not do rumors, they will do somehting lese
Vivek
2 years ago |What kind of rumors are you posting nowadays, if I may ask? It is all about how a camera is rated/selling or the endless “reviews”.You are already doing the “something else”.
admin
2 years ago |THere is no rumor today. That’s why I posted the X PRO 1 news roundup. ut don’t worry. Tons of rumors are coming. Panasonic, Sony and Samsung announcements coming

was playing with one in the shop on Saturday and had mine X100 with me. X-Pro1 is much faster camera. It’s surprisingly light which means you can carry it all day around your neck without being tortured at the same time.
viewfinder is somewhat smaller and darker than on X100, but only a tiny bit.
AF is much faster and there was really poor light in the shop and focusing on low contrast areas happened instantly.
MF is also much improved and I wouldn’t mind using it at all.

2 years ago |Henry’s Canada called last week notifying me that my Fuji X-Pro 1 was ready for pick up, but I declined to pick it up. After the poor performance from reviewers I’ll keep my Pentax K-5, Leica M8, Panasonic G2 and GF2 and my pre-ordered Olympus OM-D E-M5.

2 years ago |I was able to buy from Henry’s Canada (for US shipment) so I appreciate everyone who cancelled. (I’m being serious)

2 years ago |Wrong choice ! Nex-7 had better reviews at first but seems struggling a lot with most of lenses. Fuji X-Pro 1 has more and more good reviews and pics samples on Flickr are really impressive…
hexx
2 years ago |can’t wait for head to head comparisons between NEX-7 and X-Pro1, for both there are adapters (Kipon for example). And there’s SLR Magic Nocton f/0.95 for both cameras – this is what I’m really waiting for and comparisons with Contax lenses.
NEX-7 looks like a brilliant camera but problems with 3rd party wide angle lenses are the reason why I decided to wait for X-Pro1.

http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/fuji-x-pro1/fuji-x-pro1A7.HTM
Guess what? It’s soft with odd artefacts (check out the text on the proportional scale). Looks like Fuji’s seemingly brilliant bayer arrangement isn’t so brilliant after all.

2 years ago |Just got my hands on a X-pro1: Not big, light, yet feels solid. No lens on it though. The front is very neutral/anonymus good for street photo.
Hexx: Thx for your impressions from X100 experience!
There is room for software improvements as proposed by ReidReviews, but camera “hardware” is definately great and what I need/want.

2 years ago |Kylberg, thanks for sharing your impressions. I’m definitely tempted by the X-Pro1, even more now that I have an x100!!!

2 years ago |The X pro 1 and lenses are already on sale in London. £1429 body only if you want one.
hexx
2 years ago |yes, I tried it in chiswick camera centre, they have only 1 left with 35mm lens.
I was sooo tempted to buy it, I must admit. But I decided to wait for a while, price might drop a bit (I bought my X100 for £899 and now it’s £699)

2 years ago |Apparently it’s already out in Canada. These guys seem to have all the X-PRO 1 line!: http://fuji-x.camtecphoto.com/index.php?ENC=0&SS=58
I don’t know if the ships in the States though.
Andreas
2 years ago |I bought the X-Pro1 + 35mm last Monday here in Switzerland. The shop I bought from had several in stock this week. More to be shipped to them today…
Still no sign of the 18mm lens though.

2 years ago |Hi guys, I live in Italy and it’s about 15 days that I have the Xpro1 with all 3 lenses… it’s easy to find all of them here
hexx
2 years ago |and how do you find it Jacob after 15 days?
jacob
2 years ago |oh… I sold my 7D and all my canon lenses… because of the size and weight… and bought the xpro… regrets? no-one… and 18 and 35 are very good lenses, with pretty fast af (of course, no match with my past canon usm and L lenses but really faster than Nex Lenses, I have also a nex5). IQ is astonishing, 2 or 3 steps better than 7D. 60mm is also good, but with slower af… a bit annoying this thing. Like a 7D I have all buttons and dials I need without searching the menu, and this is really good (i.e.: nex 5 is terrible from this point of view…).
