Fuji: Interchangeable mirrorless system coming in Spring 2012.

Fuji just announced that they will launch a new interchangeable mirrorless system in Spring 2012. There are no info yet about specs and price. There is only a general statement saying that Fuji’s goal is to archieve the highest image quality possible. Sounds like they could go Fullframe or am I crazy?

Nikon 1, Q, NEX, NX and m43. Too few. WE NEED MOAR!!!1
FullFrame you say? Preposterous. Why not medium?!
P.S. Though they might be onto something, iff they would follow the ideas of their previous S Pro line, but this time with a mirrorless FX body (fullframe F-mount body). But that obviously requires PDAF on sensor and previous Fuji’s inroads into the tech where far from stellar.

Fuji doesn’t have a FF sensor, and they certainly don’t design their own for a small marked like this. That will be far too expensive. Even Nikons total sale of all FF cameras are counted in a few 100-thousand world wide.
A good bet is the same sensor as X100, but more beliveable are the sensor from the X10 (IMO).

We need an entry level full frame compact camera. Please a pioneer in something. Not to be a follower in something different.

Here’s the win for Fuji — physically an M mount, but with contacts, so Fuji can make AF lenses. Use CV/Leica lenses for MF and their rendering, use Fuji new lenses for AF
(I can dream, can’t I?)

So be it.

Am i missing the point, or are we not going to just end up with a full frame dslr with no ovf or a m9 with digital vf? Whats new? Ok its a m9 with af. Big deal?

mean more real estate, higher pixel count, better depth of field, wide lens selection and perhaps, easier post processing. Film formats 110, 626, aps and others died because of image quality as a function of size – why wouldn’t the same hold true of sensor sizes. A full frame mirrorless camera with terrific image quality and stability would be welcome in the marketplace.
