Again new Olympus and Sony rumors…

Seems like Olympus and Sony are the companies that still will give us some stuff the upcoming months. As I reported yesterday the new Olympus TG-5 (image on top) and the Sony 16-35mm FE lens will be announced within days or weeks.

But there seems to be more to come. We now got reports about possible announcement from both companies in June-July too…

P.S.: Still not A7rIII or A9r coming any time soon folks….

First Sony 135mm FE specs…

Just for fun: faked EXIF data seen as seen on Flickr

We got few more info on the new Sony 135mm FE lens (via SAR):

  1. We are pretty sure we will have to wait AT LEAST 3 months before the lens gets announced
  2. no lens stabilization
  3. weather sealed
  4. 80% chance aperture is f/1.8

There is still no info about the new camera that Sony will announce in June. But my guess is that it’s a new RX camera

Panasonic confirms the LX200 is being developed

Yosuke Yamane from Panasonic had a chat with Dpreview. He gave many insights on the GH5 and future firmware updates. They confirmed their commitment to 8K for 2020. A Bold statement is that they also want to double the camera business in USA through the focus on High End Products.

And he confirmed there will be a LX100 successor but shared no details on that.

The next announcements from Sony is probably coming very soon…

Sony A9 will ship by end of May at BHphotoAdorama, Amazon, Calumet.de. Park UK. Wex UK. Jessops.

The A9 rumble is still ongoing on the web. But it seems like Sony is not done yet and we are receiving hints about another announcement coming soon. Probably within the next 4-6 weeks Sony will announce some new E-mount lenses and probably one new camera too. We got no solid info about possible specs but so more in general some of this stuff might be announced soon:

16-35mm f/2.8 GM (very likely)
new RX camera
new 135mm FE lens

What’s definitely NOT coming yet is a new A9r or a new A7III.
